Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was absent from the team's shoot-around Wednesday because of a home-invasion robbery in his gated community in Newport Beach, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times.

Not sure if it was Kobes home. It was the gated area he lives in. No place is safe from scum.

I'm 99% positive it wasn't his exact house.

Horrible of a comment this may be, I'm glad to hear stories of robberies involving the rich. I'm fed up with those poor on poor burglaries/theft.

Dude a Celtics fan may try to hurt Kobe. Its their only chance. I say the Lakers get Kobe some more body guards. Things are crazy nowdays.

You're right, apparently NBC News altered the story, or got the wrong info. It was in his gated community and nobody was allowed to leave.
