Kobe took 37 shots last night....thats just stupid. This is usually about the time I start to question Phil Jackson, but that makes no sense because he's one of the best coaches in the league.

Games like that are a textbook example why I've never been able to completely, totally fall in love with Kobe's game. I appreciate the hell out of everything he's done for the franchise, especially after last season. He's an absolutely marvelous player, and he's improved so much as a teammate. But damn if it isn't excrutiating to watch somebody fling up shots like that.

I agree. While I never really care about how many shots someone takes 37 is far to many...especially when your not hitting most of them. Kobe for the most part has always had a problem with playing a balanced game. Im just to the point where I have pretty much come to terms on the way Kobe plays ball. We ride or die with him.....I get that. This is his 14th year and people are still acting like he hasnt been doing this the whole time. So its pretty pointless imo to complain at this point. I just hope for the best and hope other lakers step up and shot the freaking ball.

Yeah, this is pretty much the same point I made in the "Is Kobe a Chucker" thread on the GB. Hell yes, he's a chucker, and he has been since his rookie year. What's the debate? You just have to appreciate the good games and try to grit your teeth through the bad ones. But I still find that hard to do sometimes, especially when you have back-to-back games like these. Not really complaing as much as I am commenting on how painful it is to watch. I think I'd rather see the dentist than watch somebody with cold touch take 37 shots. But to borrow one of his favorite sayings, it is what it is.

Because you guys ride everyone else for their faults except Kobe. The 37 shots is not the big deal. The big deal is that it didn't come within the offense. So what its been that way for 14 years. This board is so Kobe bogus that its pathetic!

It seems like alot of posters are doubling as Kobe Bryant apologists. The guy is playing horrible ball right now and he needs to be called out on it. When he scores 30 points of 15 shots, we are deadly. When he scores 30 off 37 shots we are burying ourselves. Kobe and the rest of the team needs to lift their **** game or we can't legitimately call ourselves contenders. Maybe we should stop worrying about the future (Bynum) and get ourselves some perimiter oritentated players (Ben Gordon, Brandon Jennings etc.) The truth is, Kobe is not as explosive as he used to be and his dribble penetration is not nearly as effective it has been. His points come from clever footwork and spacing, not jacking up threes and driving to the basket. Ron Artest has never, and will never be that guy either. Bynum has shown great promise, yet, is inconsistant and, to be honest, is detrimental to our teams at times because we have Pau. Fish, as good as his leadership and clutchness is, is a black hole on both sides of the court and this might be leading to another thing, our coach. Phil is set in his ways and there is no doubt to his legacy but I think he is getting indifferent and lost in this stage of his career. He isn't good at shaking up a roster or giving confidence to younger players. There's a reason why fish is playing more than 20mpg, and that's because Phil's coach. To survive in Today's NBA, teams need to adapt because other teams improve also. I have doubts if we have done enough to really repeat. There are some stubborn basterds in this organisation and there are too many untouchable players to really give this team any mental alertness.

Post of the year! I'm tired of everybody riding his sack! Kobe has been playing great ball but this game for sure he ball hogged us right out of this game. I'm so tired of every player being able to be called out except Kobe. MEMO TO ALL YOU KOBE LICKERS, HE IS NOT GOD!

The last guy you saw me ride was LO, and that was like a year of two ago. Everyone has a bias for someone or something. So it is completely understandable when somebody sticks up for one of their favorite players. Its like back in the 80's Im Magic could do no wrong is anyone's eyes....thats just the way it is. I flame kobe in the playoffs...not regular season..I just dont see the point. I fell like he is always trying to see what works for him in the playoffs. Like right now he is shooting with his left hand....alot. If it works for him he might pull it out in the playoffs. Some of use spent the first 7-8 years of Kobe's career giving him hell. This is 14th season imo anything he does, he's earned.

Actually Big Game that wasn't intended for you. I was so pissed when I saw that post I didn't realize you were part of that quote but I will address some of the things you said.

Let's start with Magic. As much as he was & still is my favorite player I could still call a spade a spade. I didn't ride him too often because if he messed up he usually made up for it & not always trying to score to do it.

Kobe is fine in my book. My problem is with some posters. They come on here & talk big sh** about everybody until Kobe deserves it. You can check my posts as well I don't come with it's this persons fault too often i'm usually on their performances.

Yes everyone has certain biasness towards certain things or people but why so blatant? I'm just not a fake person. If I ride 1 I can ride the other.
