I was a big Bynum supporter, then Bynum supporter, then luke-warm on Bynum...
He had a good game in Boston, he stayed on the court... He seemed really engaged in the game and what the Lakers were trying to do... Good job!
But for me to hop back on the bandwagon, I need to see this streak continue through at least the all-star break and probably beyond...
Basically, he hasn't proven anything to me just yet. His problem for me is that he hasn't embraced his roll on this team and figured out how to make it work for him... And us....
It takes more than a couple games to prove that at least to me. It's all about being seamless when you come off the bench night in and night out. And I'll overlook a few bad games thrown in there too... But just show us you always have the eye's on the prize.
That said, I think Pau has to show me something now too... If Bynum steps up and continues to contribute at a high level, Pau needs to adapt to HIS new role too... And figure out how to contribute at a high level as a complimentary piece inside and off the bench, with fewer minutes.
So, bring it Pau, and Bynum... We need BOTH you guys to figure it out... And Odom too... We need Odom to do way more cut-and-dish plays to set up our bigs... Attacking the basket is more than isolation and interior passes.... It's drive and dish too...
So props to our future big man and let's keep up the good work!

I think so too. He's getting up now. I was scared for Bynum's future coming into this season. He wasn't jumping well at all and I thought his ceiling was lowered because of the injuries on both knees. But man Bynum is bangin on people now. I'm lovin where he is now and the next step is for him to do it consistently against the best bigs for the rest of the season.
Does anyone think Bynum might've earned CP3's all star spot after the January he just had? Maybe yesterday was enough of a late entry showcase for the league.

Re: Bynum's Big Weekend
Bynum was great yesterday and I think had he played more minutes, the Lakers would not have needed a last second shot from Kobe.
It was nice to see Phil reward Bynum by playing him at the end of the game for a change, but he should have had more minutes prior to that.
The offense still bogs down too much IMO and throwing it into Bynum more and/or the drive and dish would help out a lot.
Bynum is the present and future of this franchise, where he is playing well now to contribute to multiple championships - and - he can be an excellent bridge player to our next team that can be built around him after Kobe, Pau, etc. are gone.
The Lakers will have cap room to bring in a great wing player to play with Bynum down the line when this dynasty is over and having Bynum, a dominant center, will prevent the Lakers from having to hit rock bottom to rebuild the team into a title contender.
Trading him for Bosh or almost anyone else would be silly.
