Kobe to sit out till after All-star break?

Post#1 » by Derekman » Sun Feb 7, 2010 6:39 am

I was watching the game and the Blazers announcers said they talked to Lakers officials and hinted Kobe might be out till after the all-star break including missing the all-star game to. Is there any truth to this?

I really don't know we can beat the Spurs at home without Kobe but you never know really.

I think Bynum is the one that's going to get a few days off.

Those Blazers announcers still think we sat Bynum because we couldn't match up with their great quickness. They made it sound like a game changing alteration.

LOL the Blazers announcers are arguably the two biggest idiots in America with a job. Just listen to them broadcast an entire game and you will understand why. They are so homers it isnt even funny. Go and youtube the Blazers in their gangstas days when they tried to punk Odom, Odom fought back and you see 5 blazers on Odom and the idotic announcers said "Boy the Blazers are growing up fast." ....uhhh growing up? Maybe the announcers are so use to the jail image they actually enjoyed watching 5 wannbe thugs on one guy when it is basketball.

Referring to Sasha - "I hate that guy"
Referring to Lakers fans - "The bandwagon Lakers fans now have something to cheer about for the first time in 5 years"

Even some Blazers fans think it's over the top. You would never hear Stu say he 'hates' a guy. You want unprofessionalism? Listen to two of the biggest jokes in basketball commentary.

I think we can win on Moday without Kobe. I hope he does sit out. Missing a few games would not hurt.

I'm a Blazer fan and i have to agree. They are two idiots with absolutely no professionalism. They say the randomest crap ever...its ridiculous. I think the Blazers need to get rid of them along with our coach.

i wish he and pau could sit out. i think the rest would help them give us a mojar push in the second half of the season.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Gasol missed most of the pre-season and 17 games so far in the regular season. I think he's had quite enough rest. His problem isn't exhaustion; it's that he's playing like a pansy and just not as effective at the 4 spot.

But yeah, Kobe definitely should be sitting until after the All-Star break. Perhaps Bynum should be sat for a while as well so he can get to 100%.

chill. us Blazers fans don't like them either. Mike Rice is a disgrace.

Lakers announcers are way better, Stu especially. they keep it real I must say.

They should sit Kobe to the Boston game - that's 12 days rest... and no ASG. Guy seriously needs to get healthy. LA could afford to take an extra L to ensure Kobe is more ready for the final 6 weeks.
They should be able to get by SA and GSW at home without Kobe.

^^^ I proposed that just before the Denver game. Kobe would have had a full 21 days of rest and only missed 5 games. Hell, we lost against Denver anyway so that was a complete waste of him being there. It would have also given us a lovely excuse to actually lose.

I don't understand this:

Andrew Bynum - Bruised hip and he sits out the next game. (maybe untill all star break). No hesitation.

Kobe Bryant - "broken" finger, Hurt back, sprained knee/ankle, and they guy keeps playing like this.

:banghead:

The guy needs some rest. Period.

But he will most likely sit out the next game or 2 and be back for the allstar game.
