Hughes could bring the ball up the court, hit three at 35%, and play excellent defense and he'd already improve us by leaps and bounds.

I hate Kobe playing extended minute at SF getting in foul trouble and heaving to defend bears like Carmelo and LeBron.

after hinrich, hughes is probably the best available option for this team. certainly at that price but also overall and also for next season.

A cheap vet w/ the available roster spot wont hurt us in the play-offs.

I still wish we would have made a move for Hineken since Ammo + Fish make more $ than he does. I also blame Devean George for losing the championship in 2004. You are only as strong as your wakest link. I hope fans of the Nugs, Mavs, Spurs, Celts, Magic, Hawks and Cavs dont read our board... j/k

BRING IT ON!!!

Larry Hughes can play PG, SG, and SF easily.

He can be an excellent defender and ball handler when he's focused.

He CAN'T shoot with great effeciency or be expected to play more than two thirds of a regular season.

If he is willing to simplify his game Phil Jackson will absolutely love this dude for defense alone.

Fisher would be in when the game is on the line no matter what. Even if we got Kirk Hinrich before the deadline the lineup for when the game is on the line would be.

Fisher
Kobe
Ron Ron
Lamar
Gasol

Phil has trust in Derek doing the right thing when the game is on the line. Even if we get someone next off season and Fisher comes off the bench I will bet that when the game is on the line Derek Fisher will still be the point guard.

I feel that he would be a great pick up for us. On top of that he could play 3 positions as well.

SF:Artest/Walton
PF:Gasol/Odom/Powell
C:Bynum/Mbenga
SG:Bryant/Brown/Vujacic
PG:Hughes/Fisher/Farmar

J-far can I jump on the bandwagon too?

"Hughes to Charlotte ... potentially."

I hope the Lakers at least reached out to him.

I need somebody to get Kupchak on the Bat Line.

Don't you get it the Lakers aren't that desprate to do anything especially when Phil only uses a 8 man rotaion anyways, and plus Phil never will play Hughes anyways.

Hughes or Morrison in uniform come playoff time?

With Walton potentially done for the year, 12 guys need to suit up.

I'd at least give Hughes a look for 25 games to see if he can bump Ammo.

so what's the buzz on hughes now? is there any around LA? the bobcats ruled him out, apparently he is nursing an injured finger and they need help now so they can make the playoffs. the lakers would be fine with him ready for the playoffs i guess, which is what he likely will be. i really think he would be an awesome fit, while he is streaky, he is quick as a cat and long, plus he's got the handles, puts in the effort on D and even has some experience. give me hughes on this team and i'll be way more relaxed going into the playoffs...!
