Until Gasol gets some guns the label will never be shed.

Kwame was soft and look at how he was built.

Gasol isnt softy except when it comes to 4 guys in the league that are tougher than him.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Kobeaki, that was about the OP questioning Phil not Pau. Pau has the right.

kobeaki wrote:remember no less an authority on skilled big men than greg popovich, this season in fact, hailed pau as "the most skilled big man in the game". an amazing statement considering he is tim duncans coach. i am aware of gregs ability to politic like phil. i think his praise stands though.

and there isnt a real laker fan on this board, or anywhere else who hasnt questioned phil. pau is a very smart cat, without size and skill, he would be a doctor in madrid or barcelona. intellectually i wouldnt put phil above pau.

i was on an island last the last month around here as the entire roster was sucking lemons, in my defense of pau.

and i am not trying to be smug in my victory lap here, i just want to reiterate that pau is a grade A nba player and the boy will come through for us.

end rant/.

Once again you are confusing skill with what is being said here. I have stated this on the board over & over, PAU IS THE MOST SKILLED BIG MAN IN THE GAME. For the last time that is not what is in question.

Lastly. What victory lap? After he played like sh** on the road then had a good game against a team without a big dominant front line?

KOBE_PAUER wrote:How Kobe would say.....Your thoughts are Bipolar.....Kobe didnt win a single play off round being the main man and it was because he had an horrible supporting cast, Gasol didnt win a single play off game for the same reason. Gasol with a good supporting cast could dominate all superstars worldwide in 2 Olympics in a row and World Championships. I cant see Kobe winning a single game in the playoffs playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, and Kobe is the best player in the game. It was exposed this when Kobe got injured and Gasol did monster games, I can see Gasol winning play off rounds as the main man in this lakers team without Bryant.

You are proving my point Grape Ape. Who has ever won anything without a supporting cast. That was my whole point DUHH

No way he's Kwame Brown Big Game, but anyone who thinks his lack of physicality not only hurts us at times & could cost us a title this year isn't being real with themselves. Look at it bruh all teams that have a decent sized front line come at him with no respect now because they feel he will wilt. The only thing that changes that is ca-hones PERIOD.

Appreciate what he does.

You hit the nail on the head, SINCE HE'S BEEN A LAKER. When was the 1st option on the Grizz they were 1 & done if they made the playoffs. He's been a winner here because of his supporting cast which includes the best player in the game. If Pau would gain tgis mental toughness he needs we would blow through everybody including whoever makes it to the Finals

i'm sure you are one of those who believes this team is better with bynum than gasol. If bynum can get his "physical toughness" together than we would blow through everybody including whoever makes it to the finals too.

The hilarious thing is the current Memphis Grizzlies would play playoffs in the east surpassing Bosh's Raptors....

Im not sure what this has to do with Bosh as a player.

Nothing. It all has to do with him & Gasol :cuddle

Yeah but the difference is it Bynum's injuries not his testicular fortitude. Truthfully I think the team is better with both of them. Myself personally learned how to play ball on the streets before I started playing organized ball. Soft players have always gotten under my skin especially when their toughness is needed & the back down.

All I want from Pau is to toughen up. I have no other problems with him. What I want from Drew is to stop extending every injury. This will be the 3rd season in a row we either won't have him or he'll come back in & have to find his rhythm & chemistry again.

Yes. His toughness that gets called into question is when we play these teams with big rugged front lines they all tend to rough him up if he's having a good game & he disappears. He has to step it up & play rough back so even if it throws him off of his game he will throw the other guy off of his, or at least show he will not be intimidated.

If he'd have toughness, he would be the white Chamberlain. He's just a talented and finesse power forward who can play center. Enought? I dont know, but he's an euro who can play ball, play defense and outstanding offense. I wonder people blame him against the Spurs because Tim freaggin Duncan scored 4 buckets in the 4th quarter....He was the only Laker onfire. We only talk about his softness when we lose. Typical bandwagon supporters.

Get off the dope juice. It has been stated plenty of times that he has good games against all different teams that don't have rugged front lines. Duncan is a finesse player. What is it that you don't understand about that?

Just admit you want to towel Pau off after he gets out of the shower & we will all understand.

Of course, Im inlove with him, he's my second favourite player, and the best PF in the game. Nice people and he has an amazing sex appeal with his hair and beard. I will name my son Gasman or Gastrong in his honour. 8-)
