Alfred, crackjack, to add a couple. I started posting around the time of the shaq trade. Those were some crazy times. All of realgm was stompin on kobe and the lakers while we were down. Trolls galore. But hey it brought us closer because we had to stick together. Even though the lakers sucked we still had fun.

I actually think Blake would make a great starter for this team. He's a guy who knows his role. Big guard like Phil prefers, and he can shoot. Beggers can't be choosers. We might need to overpay for a decent pg. We have the worst pg rotation in the nba, so even an average pg would be a huge upgrade. If it takes the mle to get Blake, id do it for 2 years with a 3rd year team option. We're over the cap anyway so its not worth losing a free agent over 1 or 2 mil. We need a pg BADLY!

Blake is a really good fit because he is a true quarterback that could allow Kobe to pick his spots more and also because he (Blake) can knock down threes at a forty percent clip (although his overall fg pct is pretty low for his career).

HOWEVER, Blake is not an upgrade over Fisher defensively. Most will disagree, but Fisher and Blake are a wash defensively. If Blake is signed, the Lakers have to also sign a "defensive" PG as well -- for balance sake.

Money wise, the Lakers would seriously be overpaying if they paid him anywhere near 5 million per.

I think Steve Blake is worth three million a year. I'd probably go as high as 3.5 million per.

At three million a year, I'd give him up to (but no more than) four years and draft Jimmer Fredette in the second round to be his understudy (NOT his immeadiate backup though).

honestly... i thought once portland's trade with the clips went down, blake would get bought out... he'd either return to portland, or get picked up cheap by us... OR mitch couldve sent ammo + cash to cover the difference for blake, really dropped the ball on that one...

but at least we have options again during the summer.

Oh please the Clip were never going to cut him, and Portland was not going to trade with us for two reasons one they need a center (Camby), and two THEY HATE OUR GUTS AND WOULD RATHER SHOOT THEMSELVES THAN TO TRADE WITH US!!!. get it now.
