Really? Hmm... I'm more of an earbud guy myself but I'm starting to get into DJ'ing and wanted to get a really good pair of studio quality ones. The beats series by Dre don't come out for a few months, thought these might be a sweet alternative to Sennheiser...

LOL at looking at Skull Candy's and Beats by Dre, two of the worst choices in sound quality and way over priced.

Yeah I was just looking for an alternative with some style. Obviously for that money, probably better spent on a Denon, but considering I'm still learning its not like I need the true high quality stuff yet .

Every time I see Kobe rockin' headphones it has been the DRE line. I never seen him in Skull Candy. I don't know if that tells you anything.

By the way if you are a DJAY stay away from stuff like DRE and Skull Candy and stick to the industry standard. Senheiser, AKG, Numark, Pioneer, Sennheiser, Sony, Stanton, Technics, etc.
Also pick a pair that is collapse able so you can store in a gig bag. Detachable cables are a god send. Pricier headphones that have replaceable parts will pay for themselves.

Thanks H00Ps, yeah I will probably stick to Sennheiser for now, but it would be nice to get a really good looking custom set at some point that was actually good. I know the cheaper skull candies are not that great, but that set looked pretty solid. The Dre line is intruguing too, might be worth at least trying, but I'll go with a standard first so I have a better reference.

FYI, the Kobe's were the only ones that sold out when I checked late yesterday lol

Also when I saw Kobe that day at the gym he was rockin those custom Dre phones that I think he and LeBron bought the all-star teams. Forgot to mention it but thought it was cool.

oH SO he was wearing the DRE I thought so. Well if you hit the DRE line its safe to say that the more expensive 200 dollar range probably are higher end in quality and probably a better frequnecy response. I don't like exaggerated bass in my phones. I like to at least be able to feel the thump less rumble. It just may be safe to read some reviews before a purchase and you can always drop them on Ebay if you don't like them.

can never go wrong witha pair of sony 7506's....they tend to be bright, but in a club they cut through nicely...

sennheiser and grados are really good too...
