Andrew Bynum situation, some new moves??

Post#1 » by KOBE_PAUER » Tue May 4, 2010 12:15 am

Im not his biggest fan, but I know we need Bynum to win it all this season. He needs a surgery and rest until the finals. Theres a risk but we should do it. Play without Bynum against Utah, *and Suns/Spurs* and rest him until the finals against the Lebrons. We cant beat them without bench and our second 7 footer....Some new moves around this situation??? I can see him getting injured again in that meniscus...

A doctor was on ESPN radio and he pretty much said Bynum would be LUCKY to get back by the finals.

he's manning up and will get through it alright. i believe the doctor's have said it won't put him in danger of a more serious injury. this is the time to just deal with the paing and that's what he's gonna do. go drew!!

Is Bynum injury prone? or does he just have bad luck because we know the potential this kid has and it would be sad if injuries got in the way

did you see us play the last month without bynum? we wouldn't have made it out of the first round without him. There's no way we can afford him to be out right now. He just hyperextended friday, maybe we'll get lucky and his knee he may return to being asymptomatic again after some rest. We have like 3 or 4 days off after the next game so he might show some improvement after our minibreak.

Losing Bynum right now is not much of an option. I think its pretty freaking obvious that Drew is a big part of this team and that team needs him. He helped get us get past the Thunder in the first round and theres no denying that. I've been a huge supporter of Bynum over theses years. So many times people have called him injury prone but I would always defend him saying that hes isn't injury prone but I think now its gotten to a point where I just don't know what to believe. Its been getting pretty hard to support him and defend him with all this crap going on. The team needs him but he just can't be there for them which flat out sucks.

Is this even a question any more? He even said it himself the other day:

"I guess I am kind of injury prone."

Wow that takes some balls to say that. Most players would never want to admit anything like that even if they think so.

yea I know huh

sucks that his own body is preventing him to play at his full potential. I like bynum too. I think some of the guys that want to trade him are really out of their minds. the luxury of having two talented 7 footers are wet dreams for other teams. but the guy is indeed injury prone and hes really freakin hurting our team every time he goes down.

He would miss 4 to 6 weeks if he had the surgery... We know he would be closer to 6 weeks given history therefore the playoffs would be over... He needs to keep playing... Earn a paycheck like everyone else...

haha Snaq. Imagine if Drew was down there with them now filming the next season because he couldn't play anymore this season.

This was after his game 2 performance.
With Bosh Watching, Bynum Struts His Stuff

It seems as if Bynum is earning more respect from Jackson.

"During the game he never complains," Jackson said. "He goes out and does the job."

Jazz coach Jerry Sloan called Bynum "a huge factor" and kept coming back to the Lakers' size when Bynum and Gasol are in together.

"The reason I didn't want to get [surgery] done now is the pain level isn't that high," Bynum said. "I can play through it. And then going through the rehab process, nobody knows exactly how long it's going to take. So I don't want to do it and miss the rest of the playoffs. It's cool if they say two weeks, and then if it goes three or four and you miss the playoffs, everybody's looking at you crazy."

Nice to see Phil say this about Drew. In the past we know there was some sort of tension between them two and Bynum did have a disagreement with Phil about how he was used. Looks like Bynum has learned to respect Phil's choices and does what is asked of him. In another article on ESPN I read that Sloan also said he admires Bynum because he's made himself a better player.

It also looks he is thinking about the team and he doesn't want to disappoint anyone by not being able to play. If he can stay healthy then things look really bright for his future here with the Lakers.

We need to rest him and hope and pray he can give the Lakers something like he did in game 2.

well we have a couple days off before the next game.. so hopefully kobe, fish, bynum n Co. can rest up and be ready to go in game 3.. the jazz beat us in the previous 2 game 3s we have faced them in.. so far in the playoffs LA has played best after getting a couple days rest.. i look forward to us coming out strong and taking a commanding lead, crushing their hopes of beating us.. so we win easily the next game.. or clean things up back at staples! :D

hellooooo third round!!
