The Skyhook wrote:Props to Phil for getting the job done. This was the best scenario for the Lakers. Their legs might still be hurting now but they will be thanking themselves later for finishing the series off early on. The battle against the Suns has already started. Right now its about who can maintain the most focus throughout this long break.

Coach Phil Jackson sensed how close his team was to finishing this leg of the race, so he leaned hard on his veterans, playing Kobe Bryant 42 minutes and Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher 40 minutes apiece, knowing the promise of six days off before the start of the Western Conference finals awaited them if they could just prevail.

"Instead of the normal rotation, I knew that if we could push it through we'd sustain a longer rest period for this team, which is important," Jackson said.

Good find Skyhook!!! I like that our boys get a week off, they need it for the 2nd half of these playoffs. I like a week off before facing Phx and then potentially Orl/Bos/Cle.

2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

This year's Playoffs are strange for me....

I didn't absolutely hate the Thunder, because Durant is a modest and respectable rising star.

I didn't absolutely hate the Jazz because Deron Williams is phenomenal.

The Suns are my second favorite team, I really like Nash, Dudley and Dragic.....

Crap.

We should win this series in 6, I'd say.

Our keys are; Gasol neutralizing Amare, who has been the best offensive bigman in the league this year and Bynum putting up big numbers in limited minutes.

Nash is always a hassle, but if we deny him the lane and close out the other shooters he should be pretty much a non factor.

The Suns have some good defenders but no real "stopper" type players. Kobe should be able to drop 28-30 a game at a good clip like in the Jazz series. The Suns are closer defensively to Suns than they are to the Jazz.

If we played like we did against Utah, we are the best offensive and best defensive team in the league, with the best closer, the best length, the best man defender, the best post scorers and the heartiest point guard. It's just about desire. And that, my friends, lies in Luke Walton(LOL JK, I don't think he's in game shape).
I love your mum in my shirt
