I think you may be giving Bynum way too much credit when it comes to mind games. From everything we've seen from him concerning injuries I'm much more likely to believe that his knee is actually getting worse than this is some secret ploy to psyche out the Suns.

if it takes a couple of cortisone injections into the knee, just drain the knee of pus and in goes the needle.

Don't you think they have done that already?

Which is probably why he's playing.

I doubt it, if it was as you say, "not that bad" and all they need is a corizone shot, then it wouldn't be getting worse.

I don't think its mind games. I think Drew is just inexperienced when it comes to reveling what he has to revel to the media. He's definitely matured though when it comes to questions the media asked him. But I think with the injury stuff he just lets things out without noticing. When he was first diagnosed with this he was told it can't get any worse but that was quickly changed to its only gonna get worse and he will eventually need surgery but this is just a matter of how much pain he can take. The amount of pain he will go through is going to depend on how much we need him this series. If he is called upon to be big I hope he can fight through all the pain.

Possibly. He might even just be trying to fight through the pain so he doesn't get traded.

The Raptors will still take Bynum for Bosh without question considering our alternatives are like, Michael Beasley and James Johnson. A risky Bynum is still superior to those deals considering he's only guaranteed for 2 years anyways. Especially considering Colangelo is a big PR guy who loves making big splashes in the summer to sell tickets. Maybe it'll come with a Calderon/Odom swap though which almost fits you guys better anyways

Calderon woudl get ripped apart by Laker fans for his defense.

Playing in our D with Kobe, Artest and Pau backing him up will make Calderon look a hell of a lot better than he did in Toronto.

Besides, the upgrade on offense with Calderon would make it worthwhile on its own.

Having said that no way we'll give up Odom for Calderon, thats crazy talk. Give them Bynum and Farmar and a pick for Bosh and Calderon.

Give the guy some credit, everyone use to question his heart and passion for the game but he's clearly doing what he can do be out there and give the team what he can. Call it the Kobe-Effect if you want, but when the entire team sees what that guy plays through it can't help but motivate you (unless you're Shaq).
Thank you, Phil.

I say he should rest against the Suns. It is the Celtics we should worry about.

On another note, I'd rather have Bynum tell media that his knee is fine and keep people guessing, rather than saying it's a little worse.

Sit him out the whole phoenix Series.

He will have to be at his top game to beat the Celtics.

I would be concern if I were the Lakers. If Bynum is not ready the Lakers
will get blown off the court just like Cleveland and the Magic

I'm not optimistic about this because we all know how Bynum plays when affected by his endless injuries.

We'll get away against Phoenix but when/if we get to the finals, his active presence will be crucial against either Orlando or Boston.

cortisone injections dont make it better, they just control the symptoms

playing, wear and tear makes it worse

in the end, its just a meniscus tear, it can always be cleaned up (ie. smoothed over) afterwards

Do that and you won't have to worry about the Celts. That is one of your strengths, your "length." You lose Bynum, you guys are smaller than us with Lopez back and you lose your depth by starting Odom. I am not surprised you guys would say that tho. Most bandwagon Laker fans are unknowledgeable and only watch the Lakers during the playoffs.

I think you guys would be hard pressed to find a "true" Laker fan to agree with your assertion of resting Bynum for the entire Suns series.

Regardless of the Bynum situation and to rest him or not. Please give up the trolling and the bandwagon talk. Let's not pretend like the Suns board and fans are not coming back in full force.

You think the Suns can win. I would still rest him. Most people know in a 7 game series the Suns lack the defensive intensity to win. they are a great to watch but not in the finals
