#24's skill set on both ends of the floor, the purity of his ability unrelated to athleticism is the nicest thing to watch outside of beautiful women. granted, #8 had achieved a unique skill level already...!

Yeah I miss the FRO too!
One of my earliest memories of Kobe was being out with some friends in Hollywood at some hole in the wall resteraunt that made killer 1 Pound burritos. Anyway, they had the game on, I had missed the draft and I think this was one the first home games for the Lakers in the early days of #8. I was watching the game and Kobe runs to the scorer table to check in a game. I was like
"WHO THE HELL IS THAT KID CHECKIN IN?!" all my buddies start checking out the TV and they begin to tell me. "OH thats um that kid that came straight out of highschool the Lakers got... He's got skills."
I kept calling Kobe number 8 the whole night. Because we weren't sure how to pronounce his name LOL! So this other guy who is sitting in the table across from us says. "Yeah, thats cat's name is KOH-BEE BRYANT his dad was in the NBA back in the day, called him Jellybean, probably before yall time. But he gonna be good he is legit! I kept up with him when he was in highschool. Yeah dude is gonna be star, kids gonna be crazy for him like MJ you watch." We all was like " word? for real?" No one took this guy serriously and Kobe had a horrible game that night. I think he played 5 minutes if that. I still remeber the annoucer saying as they showed Kobe walking the hallway to the locker room as halftime had just started. "His name is Kobe Bryant, future of the Los Angeles Lakers I am sure we will be seeing alot more of this season, hopefully more in the second half."
He didn't play in the second half... But that stranger was right. Kobe became a star.

2003 Kobe.

His best defense + he as pretty much this good a shooter, give or take, and he was way more explosive. TBQH i'd take dwyane wade over current Kobe.

I'm not going to post this topic unless we win

But since we are talking about Kobe's numbers.

The question will be can #24 get 7?
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Kobe will have his #24 retired in Staples and the HOF ... #8 was his Shaq days, #24 were HIS days.
