Allen afraid of Gasol

Post#1 » by aroba » Wed Jun 9, 2010 9:26 am

You know, I've seen it so many times now to ignore it. Whenever Allen is going to shoot and Gasol jumps on him, I expect Gasol to get a piece of it.

2009 season both regular season games, this regular season games and also game 1 and game 3 of this series: Allen goes for 3--> Gasol blocks his shot with his fingerprints.

That is huge. Gasol kows it and he always goes after him when Allen tries a last second shot. I think Gasol is winning this mental war on him.

Maybe Allen's fast shooting release benefits Gasol long arms-low jumping blocked shots attemps. I don't know. I thing Gasol knows when and were the ball is coming when Allen shoots and he takes benefit out of it.

i think you're stretching a little on this one.......
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their
shoes. That way, you'll be a mile from them, and
you'll have their shoes.

After having a historic game 2, Pau's block on Allen must have scared him so much that he proceeded to miss the next 10 shots that he took.

Right.

That being said, Gasol's hustle and length, and his ability to block Allen's jumper, is certainly impressive. Not many players who can do it, especially big men.

Allen should have pumped faked and drove, but he didn't.

Allen simply choked, it wasnt Paus defense or any other pathetic excuses Cs fan are coming up with like Artest dirty play caused injury to Rays knee and B.S excuses.

He choked, he missed wide open shots and Fisher D'ed him up very good.

Credit Gasol for chasing Allen down and getting to him as he releases his shot. But let's not get carried away, he still got several good lucks his shot just wasn't falling. That's the importance of not letting a shooter get going and for that credit goes to D.Fish he came out guarding Ray far more aggressive last night.
Thank you, Phil.

He drove twice in the third quarter, dished it off, and got us easy hoops...There's more to driving than just scoring....
