Get your facts straight.
Offensively speaking, Ron Artest was good in Games 1 and 6, and completely sucked in between. The criticisms are legit. Defensively, he's doing a decent job when compared to how other teams defended Pierce (not as good as Cleveland, not as bad as Orlando, about the same as the Heat).
And your user name doesn't make any sense. Fare? It's fair.

Gee, semi. Thanks for the spelling lesson. Either I'm a complete buffoon, or my userID spelled CORRECTLY was already taken

And don't be so defensive...clearly you're implicating yourself as one of the negative nancies. I don't care about numbers, don't care about meaningless comparisons...all I care about is winning and standing BEHIND our guys. Not crying for players gone (Ariza), or bashing current players for their WELL KNOWN limitations. Ron's not perfect, we get that. But he tries damn hard on EVERY possession. I'll take a guy like that, and will reward his effort by standing BEHIND him, good or bad.

Re: How bad is Ron Artest?
Artest/Pierce matchup looked exactly like gm 1. He pretty much cancelled out Pierce #'s, lets hope for the same in gm 7, we all know Pierce is gona bring it

ron's done a great job of limiting pierce's opportunities. bird said that cooper was the hardest defender he had to play against because he did so well at limiting his opportunities. he said he'd have to try to do his damage with a third less touches.
hopefully he can help out on the offensive end in game 7 like he did in game 6

Then be more specific when you criticize instead of calling everyone a bunch of negative nancies. People aren't just piling on Artest for one bad performance or two, but a collection of bad games.
I have no problem giving Artest his props when he comes through, but when he stinks I'm going to be vocal about it.
I've done the same for Kobe, Gasol, Odom, etc., so Artest is not going to get a free pass just because he had a good game or two in the Finals. He is a vital part of our championship hopes and we need him to perform.

Just about everyone here stands behind the team, but that doesn't mean that players can't be criticized when they don't perform. Coaches criticize players when they don't perform, just like players sometimes criticize themselves. What we're doing is no different, except that we have no real reason to hold back on how harsh we are because the players aren't going to read any of what we say anyway.

Shooting is not a limitation for Artest. In fact, that was one of the reasons I preferred him over Ariza. He wasn't just a one-trick pony that had a good salary year. He has been a consistently good (but not great) 3-point threat throughout his career.

I appreciate the effort, but I also appreciate results. Vujacic tries damn hard as well but he still sucks cock most of the time. Should he get a free pass?
I don't think there's anything wrong with criticizing guys when they aren't performing. Artest shooting the ball well is extremely important because they are giving him wide open shots, and he is more than capable of making them as evidenced by Games 1 and 6. When he makes those shots, it opens things up for everyone else and more importantly keeps our offense functioning properly.

Re: How bad is Ron Artest?
I've learned to just accept Artest for what he is. Offensively, he's been atrocious for us for the most part, but we did not bring him in for offense. I think Artest is the type of player that he needs to know that he is the man, or maybe a 2nd option, to really thrive on offense. A lot of his offensive game seems to be driven by confidence, and I don't think he has that at this point. Maybe next year he will better adapt to his new role, but we really don't need him to do much. All we need is for him to do a fairly good job at knocking down his wide open shots he sees, and for him to be able to step up on the nights where Kobe or Pau go cold. However, I still view Artest as a very important contributor to this team, because his defense has been something we were lacking. As shown last night, if our team plays up to it's capabilities defensively, we are damned hard to stop. And Artest is a very crucial piece to this strategy.

Sig made by me.

with all the "I'm sorry, Ron" threads posted after game 7, I'll simply just quote myself after game 6. Nuff said.
