I follow Bill Simmons on Twitter along with his former boss Jimmy Kimmel and I saw this back and forth today:

I love this if its true. Not because Bill bet against the Celtics because who cares, he saw a chance to win some cash, screw the heart, bet with your head. However, to me the best part is that after Kobe's playoff performance, having an off night at the end is what he wants to point out? Not that his team got their heart ripped out, not that the Lakers are 1 away from Boston's total, nothing else...just that he was 6 for 24. Well sir, lets not forget that PP shot 33% and Ray was a clunker, even worse, during Game 7. This is what Kobe's dealt with, people hating him just to hate him...and that might be the best part of being a Laker fan. Jimmy Kimmel showed it with his response (assuming its all true), because I know he got more joy out of that comeback than Bill got from the initial joke.

Betting money is about who you think will win, not who you want to win... so... yeah.

I'd make a terrible better for this reason.
