I went back and watched it based on this thread.

My take is they weren't talking about Phil Jackson at all. It seemed to me that whatever they were discussing was unrelated to what was being announced to the crowd.

Did you guys notice that Stern didn't even give Kareem any props I mean Kobe and Magic are the greatest Lakers but can't forget the SKYHOOK man cmon Stern you give Bill Russell all this praise but were in LA at least say something nice about Kareem

it would be a damn shame if he left. the Lakers are in a groove now...i can picture them winning 2 or 3 more championships before Kobe's contract expires. He should retire when Kobe retires

I think he stays one more year IMHO. Good luck guys. Would be nice to rekindle a Knicks/Lakers rivalry but we obviously have a long way to go. I can't see anyone beating this Laker team.
