cool read^ but the only hole we got to deal with is the obvious point guard situation and if thats the biggest hole then we're good because the triangle doesnt require a top 5 or even top ten point guard, (hell we won the chip with a top fifty pg)all we need is a pg that can knock down the occasional three and can keep a man in front of him, so we really dont need a pg that can break down the defense cause the triangle takes care of that and mock my words bynum will stay healthy in the RS and completely healthy come playoffs

btw shaq was shipped out due to obvious reason, and the front office knew that there was going to be a long drought after shaq. i know thats not what you want following this year ( bad example)

my bad if i sounded alittle redundant

Yeah, the team is running a watered down version of the triangle offense, but a true point guard is still not needed.

i agree sometimes they get out of the triangle you could thank farmar and shannon for that maybe shannon not so much hes trying to take after fisher you could tell but when you got fisher kobe luke lamar and pau the triangle is a thing of pretty especailly when the offense is thru pau

Yeah, traditionally the triangle didn't need a "classic"-type PG to be effective.

The PGs were more shooting guard than anything.

However, the triangle ALWAYS had an organizer or faciliator.

Since Kobe has played for Phil Jackson he has been the PG.

This was more than fine with a prime Shaq on the roster but now ...

Kobe is the NUMBER ONE option and needs a guy on th squad who can deliver the ball to Kobe in his sweet spots.

So although I used to feel that all we need is a PG who can shoot and defend, I now realize that with Kobe needing to play more off ball and with two dominant low post players the largest need is a real-life distributing, floor general who is not a defensive liability.

as it stands on this matter, if the lakers land steve blake (and quickly i might add), then this bynum for noah/hinrich is dead in the water.

if we can't, then its back in play. even then, i'd hold off dealing bynum until we are absolutely certain that we can't get hinrich for sasha (exp) + farmar S&T/shannon brown or some unofficial retiree (ira newble, jim jackson, shammond williams)

heck, if chicago lands wade, then hinrich might be a lot easier to get.

Chicago is not going to trade Noah and Hinrich for Bynum. The general perception on the Bulls board is that Bynum is far too injury prone and not worth the risk, and I wouldn't be shocked if Bulls management thought that as well.

I know that's what I would think.

It's going to be harder to get rid of Bynum than people think, and that's assuming that Jim is even willing.
