Thomas and Smith........are you kidding me ? Both are utter garbage, I'd rather keep Josh over those scrubs.

It's nothing but spewed garbage being post to the board now, at this rate I'll be checking out for the next 3 months.

No see, if we just re-sign Ammo to a max contract we can do a S&T for Lebron!

I don't see this one happening for anything bigger than a 1-2 year LLE. I hope this doesn't happen, frankly. But, Phil likes to have a veteran around to ride the bench and teach the youngsters a thing or two (Ron Harper towards the end, Mitch Richmond, Aaron McKie).

I dunno, if I were in the Front Office I'd look for better value than 2010 TMac.

It takes more than just a few games together to develop chemistry. It also takes legitimate games as opposed to exhibition games where defense is optional.

MORE LENGTH FOR THE LAKERS?? are you KIDDING ME?

haha
take him and runnnn, even if he was just gonna stand/walk around on defence, his length and quick hands alone will make lakers even more unstoppable

I don't want much to do with T-Mac considering the other alternatives. Injury prone and looked done with Knicks of all teams. Already on the down side of his career to boot so to expect durability, much less productivity out of him is going out on a huge limb.

T Mac for the LLE with a Bonus Structure for postseason play to compensate for the lower pay level... T Mac, LO & Bynum would stabalize the second unit (obviously Bynum starts but he will play allot with them)... PJ loves length, veterans and multi-skilled players... How does it hurt... We only need 18 to 24 minute a game anyways... DO IT MITCH...

I like Tmac, he's a cool customer, but the first time he got in his defensive position for us he might blow out a knee, taking he's never played defense in his life. He wouldn't bump any of the starting five unless D Fish breaks down overnight.

This guy isn't even worth per diem, much less MLE. At this point, he's like the Six Million Dollar Man with Adam Morrison's talent and Bynum's iron man legs.

Luke and Sasha were bad signings for Kupchak..... in hindsight. Signing McGrady for MLE is just bad, period. God forbid it comes to this. Hopefully we sign Fish and Shannon/Farmar so this move doesn't even become a possibility.

I don't trust Tmac's health. It's not worth the risk. I'd rather take a player that is most definitely going to be healthy and will be a solid 12-15 ppg spark off the bench.

Shannon/Farmar? **** no...

If they want to avoid the McGrady route go for Mike Miller/Raja Bell as a combo.

T-Mac is a great player when healthy and would be deadly coming off of the bench. A dynamic scorer, especially at the wing position is something the Lakers have been lacking for a while. Lamar and Mac' coming off of the bench? are you kidding me?

Acquiring Mac' would increasingly help Kobe prolong his game and health, which is a huge priority.

That being said, it's tough to choose between Mac' and Mike Miller since both provide something different but fill a definite need as well. After thinking about it logically and putting biases aside--T-Mac's name alone makes it such an intriguing scenario--Mike Miller is definitely the way to go.

Our biggest weakness thus far has been inconsistent bench play, and with the major FA's about to collude and have any orgy together somewhere, its imperative that we get better in that department and patch up as many holes as possible. This summers activity is going to be pretty dramatic and there's bound to be at least one team that just becomes stacked.

In the end, even though I feel like we have a great team even if we resign all of our FA players... the markets ripe for picking up a valuable, above average role player at a decent price while other teams gear up to land one of the top dogs.

T-Mac is a definite risk...
Remember the 'Dream Team' and the pitfalls of bringing in a bunch of ring-chasers?

But then again ring chasers can be pretty motivated like Artest...

That said, he could play a Brian Shaw kind of role for us off the bench and add spark for limited minutes to preserve him for the post season... I don't know how much of a concern his health would be at that point.

I think it comes down to this... The level of his motivation to be a Laker and go for a ring, will be directly related to the contract he's willing to accept. So if he's signed, it'll be on our terms and that'll be a pretty good sign he's come here to accept a certain role and contribute within the dynamic. If he's not signed, it means he wasn't ready to do that...

I don't think there's any reason the FO would just ignore his desire to play here so if a deal can be done it will... If not, peace...

totally agree.... t-mac sounds like he can be pretty motivated... and i'm sure artest will be able to share some insight as to what needs to be done.... and kobe wont let him slack off either...

given that he hasn't played much over the past few yrs.... i think he still has something left - but only sign him if it is on our terms and if he accepts them
