characters with his third straight double double, i didnt see ebanks stats but im assuming he didnt do all that well, characters showing some post skills out there, wouldnt be surprise if he replaces powell. as for ebanks more then likely he'll make the squad and ew're see come preseason if he gots what it takes to contribute right away like some poeple here thinks he can.

As reported by REALGM

Derrick Caracter, playing for the Lakers, needs to refine his post moves. He travels often and it wasn't always called. It's early, but his play has been good enough to earn a contract. His 16 points and 10 rebounds were among the best performances of the day.

So I guess that means Caracter is in!?

Both these guys deserve and will get invitations to training camp. I'm looking forward to watching their progress.

Both of them are going to contribute this year. I'm pretty excited for Ebanks.

if we got KT to sign here for like 2yrs, I dont think its worth it to bring on Caracter, better to trade him for some value or sell his rights to another team, I'm not sure how it works with 2nd rd picks though since they aren't guranteed contracts.

I'd be hesitant to give up on Caracter too soon. He's got some obvious limitations right now with his size, hand strength (seems to get ripped a lot), fouls, etc. but the dude can play. I'd love him to have at least a year of going against Pau, LO and Bynum in practices with Phil's coaching to see how his game could develop. He could be a very good player down the line.

He's kinda like a mini Al Jefferson from what I've seen of his game.

yea for some one so big, its seem quite easy to steal the reb from him, either tap it away or swipe it away from him. I just dont think he'll get enough PT to develop much playing behind the 3 bigs and my scenario was only IF we picked up Thomas, I know he's backup C but he could also be the 3rd backup PF as well.

I'm super-stoked on both of them...did we just rape everyone in the draft?

He's a PF at most. He is actually a SF size and could develop as a SF/PF tweener if he learns to move his feet on defense.

Their doing well but Caracter really has to cut back on his fouling he's averaging 7.2 fouls per game in the summer league. I expect both to make the roster I actually think Caracter's has a better chance than Ebanks because I think the Lakers will bring Strawberry and Green into training camp and the preseason but I think Ebanks will win that competition.
