I dont think trading Sasha is the only way the Lakers keep Shannon. Kupchak has said that the Lakers could have a 14 man roster this season so I think their willing to keep both of them even if their payroll goes up too 94m .

Re: Lakers Shopping Vujacic to Shed His Salary
What do Laker fans think of this trade:
Lakers Get:
Leon Powe (cheap buyout)
Cavs Get:
Sasha Vujacic
Devin Ebanks
Derrick Caracter
Use of Cavs trade player exception
Why Lakers?--LA tries to shed uncessary salary to lessen the effect of the luxury tax. The Lakers then sign Shannon Brown. Powe's buyout is cheap if the Lakers wish to do so.
Why Cavs?--Caracter and Ebanks are two young prospects that don't really fit into L.A.'s win now mentality. In Cleveland, both would have a chance to develop and potentially play. Maybe they turn into solid players for the Cavs or maybe they are out of the league in a couple of years. In any case, I think it makes sense for both teams to take a chance.

lol no.
Sasha is expiring, not like he has years left. Give up our only two young prospects? Laughable.
Sasha will be worth a decent amount come trade deadline if they can't move him now.

If you take Luke Walton also ( you have a big TPE), I think Buss would consider it...

As stupid as it is, the Cavs don't really seem to be giving up this year. So why would they do that trade, when the Lakers are supposedly shopping a 1st.

According to Alex Kennedy of hoopsworld the Cavs signed Joey Graham because they lost out on Shannon so guess that leaves the Knicks and Lakers as Shannons only choices.

Contract years = players are nearly twice as good as usual.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

If I were the Laker GM I'd hang up as soon as you proposed this deal.Pula_86 wrote:What do Laker fans think of this trade:

Let's break this down, so the Lakers are suppose to take a guy who's played 90 games the last 2 years ? Further more broke down Powe has only scored 79 points in the last season played. Dude is a one trick pony who had one damn shining moment during Game 2 of the 08 Finals.
Powe has NO skill set that fits the triangle because his game is limited in the first place, secondly how do you figure that Caracter and Ebank don't fit into our "win now" mode ? If you had paid any attention to what Mitch said to the media, he's trying to infuse this Laker team with some badly need youth to start building towards the future. Caracter and Ebanks were drafted at positions that were going to be needed in the future. Bottom line those 2 were deliberate picks.
Bottom line your trade only helps your busted Cavs team, I get the gist of where your going. But myself I'm a shrewd business man.......that deal does nothing for us because Powe is no healthier than Luke Walton is at this point.
Like I said I'd hang up the phone.
