He's looking for a chance at winning a championship as an insignificant bench player over a chance to solidify himself as a starting caliber NBA player? Sorry, not buying it.

It's about contract years. Simple as that. More guaranteed money and if he (somehow) has a breakout year then Shannon's got the player option on the 2nd. (a season that's looking like a lockout.)

Shannon made the right decision for himself...what's not to get?

Not really a legit point, what would Shaq's be without the dunk? If a players strength is getting to the rim, that is a talent not all have, and shouldn't be taken away as if it's not important. It's like saying what would Kareem's FG percentage be without the sky hook. See how silly?

where show us? most here have just said he fills out the roster and thats it....he certainly way better then the guy you mentioned, Green....that guy can't even make a top end euro league team instead has to go to the russian leauge?

The Russian league is actually pretty good CSKA Moscow until 2010 was in 4 consecutive Euroleage finals and won 2 . And they've been in 10 straight Euroleague final 4's. But I still would've taken Shannon over Green or anyone else.

That really is a decent bench. Add to that the following:
1. I-gotta-shoot-well-to-get-another-contract-Vujacic
2. Let-me-show-you-how-far-I've-come-Caracter
3. No-I'm-not-Ariza's-twin-Ebanks

For a "Cavs fan", I thought you'd know better than any other team that Shannon isn't a "starting caliber NBA player".

IDK what the beef is. A career backup has the chance to backup the best player in the league, has a shot at winning in LA, took a little less money instead of being a 1 year rental in NY, and he's the bad guy?

First off Shannon is never going to be a "starting caliber" player in this league. And what does playing for a team like the Knicks actually prove ? Lapping up minutes on a sorry non contender isn't going to develop him as a player, secondly he's not looking at a "chance".......he's actually won 2 titles. The mere fact of winning 3 isn't accomplished by many players in todays NBA. Hands down it was a very smart move. If Shannon wins a 3rd, he'll have plenty of years to soak up minutes on a loser. But you never have many chances to win 3 straight titles no matter how you slice it.

"[Los Angeles] has been the best fit, the best spot, the best everything for me ... from the money to the team to my potential role on the team and all of that," Brown said Wednesday. "This has been at the top, number one of the list."

ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne reported Thursday that the deal was a two-year contract worth $4.6 million, according to Brown's agent, Mark Bartelstein.
