Rubio
I thought I remembered hearing a few years back that if an international player is drafted, but doesn't come to the nba, after a certain amount of years, they become a free agent and can sign anywhere. Is there any truth to this at all? Does it only apply to 2nd rounders? Obviously we would have to make room for him on our roster (maybe deal blake). I'm just throwing it out there after seeing him more than hold his own against team USA. Definitely would be a top 10 PG in the league right now.

Re: Rubio
the guy obviously has talents i mean did you see the behind the back over the shoulder ally oop that the guy butter fingered the catch. i would love to see him in purple and gold, but the chance of that happening is slim to none unless we trade one of our core guys which i doubt. but to answer your question i have no idea sorry.

Re: Rubio
well i guess the main question is... Is he even going to join the NBA? lol Even if he does, i doubt he'd want to play for the wolves.. probably hold out for a trade to be done like what rudy is doing right now. 25k fine to them is nothing.

Re: Rubio
That kid is straight NASH 2.0 straight up! He killed Rose when Rose didn't get back on Defense. He would stroke that mid range or pop that 3 boom! He is pretty physical too! I forgot about how rough this kid is on the court.
Wow this kid is the real deal man. I saw him in the Olympics but his game is blossoming in to beautiful monster. Straight FRESH!

Re: Rubio
The T-Wolves will retain Rubio's rights as long as Rubio continues to play in the Euroleague. I remember researching about this when Yi Jianlian threatened to sit out and not join the Bucks when they drafted him. The only way the T-wolves lose his rights and Rubio can re-enter the draft, is if Rubio actually sits out and doesn't play international ball in the Euro-league for at least 1 full season.
I think a good example would be Sabonis. He was drafted in 1986, and then finally signed with the Blazers in 1995.

lets hope the next CBA addresses this 'issue'.

Re: Rubio
His court vision and defense are amazing already and he has the makings of a good jump shooter if he works on it with a shooting coach. Will be a tremendous point guard if and when he decides to come over to the NBA.

What happened with Splitter? Wouldn't Rubio be in that same situation if he waits a few more years - sign for more than the rookie salary I mean?

2-5 years probably before he decides to play in the league? he'll be what, 21-24 yrs old! he has lots of basketball left.
and yeah, he has to play as a TWolve and that's his only chance. showcase yourself and hopefully a trade will occur and this
nice info.

Hmmmm, that explains why I have a 1995 Sabonis rookie card. I learned something today.

Perfect for LA. He is a smart gritty guy like Fisher. I'm surprised the Spanish National team doesnt just join the Lakers to prove they can woop Miami and the Celts.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

WOW I CAN'T WAIT! Will that be on the telly? If not someone better give up the lowdown on a torrent as soon as it hits the net.
Yo, this kid play so good man wow! If anyone missed it I used to think this kid was all hype. The Olympics opened my eyes but after the game the other day I am a believer. That being said, all the NBA eyes that were on him that night, is it safe to say that he could make some kind of deal with the Wolves. The deal being If he comes to the NBA and the Wolves could trade him or his rights to some other team. For instance could the Nets offer the Wolves Harris for Rubio?
