O.T: L.A Allstar Game

Post#1 » by Dalakerbox » Fri Sep 10, 2010 9:42 pm

I remember last season when we found out we would be hosting this years Allstar Game that Jeanie Buss mentioned the possibility of adding a new type of event for Allstar weekend. She mentioned having two captains and having a bunch of players in the middle of the court getting picked to play what would be one of the most interesting games in NBA Allstar History. I was thinking Kobe and Lebron could be captains (which would draw interest in itself) and they can pick 9 other players on their team to go head to head. Of course I think this should be in addition to the REAL Allstar game and could really feature the Allstar game snubs. This game could be played to raise money for charity's as that weekend the NBA always does remarkable things for the city/youth which hosts these games. I just wanted to see what you guys think of this and if anyone has heard of any progress on such an idea.

Can you tell I am really bored and can't wait for the season to start? GO LAKERS!

I would like to see a game with not all the major stars. The players who are almost stars but do not get into all star games due to the Kobe like players ahead of them. Would be good for raising money for any charity.

Or have the big rich players sponser the younger players. They sure can afford it.

Some ides

1.Game of 21 - 3 bigest vs 3 smalles guys in the NBA

2. Have one celeb on the cort for 5 min. Each team(W and E) has to have a Celeb on the court for 5 min in the game.
(you can take out the celeb and have won HOF that is retired)

3. You can have a 4 pt shoot from your own side of the court.
Lakers 72,80,82,85,87,88,00,01,02,09 and 10 champions

I like the idea of them picking players who didn't make the all star team.

Jeanie Buss is a Marketing Genius. Stern would be forced to pay attention since its coming from the Lakers camp. This might even get Prime time NBC, CBS, ABC, or FOX Slot!

If MJ and Cuban get behind it consider it a done deal.

Or Team Magic vs Team Bird with Larry and Magic as coaches...the rivalry lives on, Charles Barkley refs the game hahahaha. But your right if anyone can pull it off it would be Cuban and M.J

That would be AWESOME, no better place to start a new tradition than LA. But they'd have to do it in advance because of practice time.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
