Did he sell to get a larger piece of the pie in Detroit, or is he just rolling there so he can be the GM?

I think he wants a piece of the pie. Also, I think he'll definetly have a say on who should stay and go on the team. I hope this means Detroit finally gets a superstar.

The Pistons need help more than arguably any team in the league. Magic can't make them worse than they are now.

Well, for what it's worth, I think he's capable of being a good GM. I'm not sure on what his eye for talent would be, but he'd be great at negotiating contracts and trades. It would be easy for him to get people to say "Yes" because, well, he's Magic. His charisma, smile and personality are overpowering. It would be tough to say no to that guy.

magic's already deity status in LA but if he took his money and makes what he wants happen.........holy ish

LOS ANGELES -- Magic Johnson told the Los Angeles Times that he would be interested in bringing an NFL team back to L.A., but he hasn't had any talks with the league.

Johnson recently sold his small ownership stake in the Lakers to Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong and sold his Starbucks outlets back to the company, fueling speculation about his future.

The Hall of Famer told the newspaper he has no plans to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers or purchase a stake of the Golden State Warriors or Detroit Pistons. He says he talked to the Warriors, but nothing came of it.

The 51-year-old Johnson says he "really, really wants the NFL to come back to L.A." but hasn't had any conversations with the league.

A spokeswoman for the NBA great told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Johnson wasn't available.

Magic doesn't own that percentage of the team anymore but he is still gonna serve as V.P to the Lakers.

Maybe all those rumors of Magic was false about him jumping into the G.M game of another team?

I've always liked that Magic has remained with the Lakers all these years; it really makes him and the organization look good. Sad to see him go, but if he goes anywhere, I'd like to see him with the Pistons because of his Michigan roots.
