Silly losses like this could very well bite us in the ass later on down the road, especially since our schedule is brutal down the stretch.

I'd really like to see Kobe setting up guys early so that it sets the tone for the rest of the game. Yesterday he had 9 FGA (2 of which resulted in FTA) in the 1st quarter. He had the same amount of FGA in the 1st quarter against the Wolves as well. That's entirely too much considering the offensive talent we have on the team, and it sends a bad message as well as making other guys spectators.

He's way better than this and he needs to start playing like it. Get everyone involved early and we'll get back to dominating opponents.

+1
just watched the game,i mean literally both kobe&pau was horrible.
kobe is forcing way too much for last couple of games, hopefully he ll bounce back.
he had 2 bad shooting nights in a row,i m expecting a redemption vs suns.

thing i hate most about losing to denver is their fans getting all hoped up and shet.

Best post to explain why we lost this game. I could not agree more and just once I'd like to see Kobe step up as a leader and take the blame for a loss.

Tell me what Kobe did so wrong. Pau & LO really didn't show up. I give Pau credit for his 20 boards but we're talking about physicality once again. Getting pushed around by Ne Ne & Harrington? Come on. What was he supposed to do? Had his shots fallen & he saved us everyone would have been smiling.

You can't have it both ways. Kobe is hurt (meaning recovering from his surgery) and is trying to play himself back into shape. You could see it in the Minnesota game, he knew Denver would pose a threat. It's 1 game out of 82. I'm wondering how many guys here really thought we were going to go 82-0? Every year every team loses games they should have won & win games they should have lost. That will never change.

Bryant was asked again if the media reaction to the Lakers struggling last game and losing this game was perhaps a media overreaction.

Bryant's grin widened as he said: "What else are you guys going to do, talk about Miami all the time?" Then he added, laughing: "Oh, right ... you are!"

We don't know what was going on in the huddles or at halftime.

Also we are missing our starting center (who specializes in defending the paint).

Not having Bynum had nothing to do with the outcome of last night's game...

Who said anything about knowing what goes on in huddles or during halftime?

And i don't think anyone is hating...everyone is just a little disappointed in the 4th quarter effort, especially from Pau and Kobe, not sure if Lamar even got off the bench.

They should have put that game away.

People are complaining of no interior toughness (see Bynum)

Everyone is complaining about Kobe's shooting and Pau's pussyfooting in the paint. Maybe no one else wanted to shoot, maybe Phil told Kobe to go to town, maybe Pau wasn't 100%.

Only thing I can think of semi, is that he's trying to get himself in some type of flow. All of his games have told a different story.....except for the triple double game, he's pushing it too much.

In my opinion, Kobe was simply looking to get "his" since the get go. He seemed very intent to score even before we knew Pau was struggling. If I recall correctly, he missed first 5 shots in first quarter and not once did he look to set up a teammate. Bottom line, we can't expect to survive many 11-33 performances from 24. Especially when majority are jumpers. Live by perimeter, prepare to die by it that's all I'm saying. If half of those misses would have been shots in the post or at the rim, we probably win cuz at a minimum he would have had more ft.

Additionally, 2 assists for a guy who gets bulk of touches is an off night. Even by his own standards [5.5 per].

Lakers had a 14 point lead in the third and had a 10 point lead at the 11min mark of the 4th. Kobe was on the bench to start of the 4th. Denver made their run but as usual Phil did his Phil thing by not calling a timeout or by putting Kobe back into the game. By the time he decided to bring Kobe back into the game is was too late. All the momentum was on the Nuggets side and their speed was killing us. This "L" was on the Lakers defense.

B shaw, some of what you're saying is true, but contrary to popular belief, Kobe is not Superman. He's trying to get himself into mid season form so he can bail us out when needed. As i stated it the earlier part of this thread though i'd like to see this team bail themselves out collectively & grow from the "save us Kobe" mentality.
