Yeah, pretty much. I mean, we don't have to have a historically dominant defense the way the Celtics do (when healthy), but we don't have to be the Suns either. With the talent that we have I'd expect us to always be a top 6/7ish defensive team.

Defense is almost always 70% effort and 30% talent and athleticism. That is why someone like Perkins, Battier, Artest or Hayes despite being unathletic are excellent defenders. We know how our defense can be when we played the Celtics or OKC in a win or go home situation and that is something we can always switch ON or OFF no matter how much we hate to admit it.

At this point or even until the seeding positions become a little more clear I don;t anticipate us turning that switch on and to be honest I'm kind of surprised by our 8 - 0 start anyways.

We wait until they come to us and calmly burn them so they respect our homecourt, no need to incinerate them into a pile of ashes any longer.
Oh yeah Dub you on point with that, I'll rather wait til they come sideways here and toast that ass. I'm not even wasting my time on other boards that have teams I know damn well won't be playing past May. Now I do have a good relationship with the guys on the Blazer board, so that's about th only board I visit outside of ours.

Yeah that on & off crap bugs me too. I wish it would stay on most of the time.

Exactly - 8 and 2 ten games in is better than I thought we would be (I was expecting a 6-4 or at best 7-3). The Spurs and Hornets aren't going to keep winning at that clip either because the Spurs (despite some new talent) are still an older team like the Lakers and the Hornets are probably going to face an injury of a key player and eventually the team will settle back down to their realistically 5-8 seed spot, just like the Heat will eventually start winning and dominating in the regular season.

I also don't think our team looks like it is really trying even in our wins - I feel like 70% of the time we're just running around like it's a pick up game at the local Y involving freakishly good athletes and 7 footers.
