did anyone else think for a second that ebanks was gonna get rim stuffed on that dunk??
ebanks got some run today and showed that he can be out there and not make bad mistakes, he made some nice entry passes to odom when he was out there and played good defense...i hope walton doesnt get much playing time going forward...

Ebanks definitely looks great.

I think the Lakers (and Phil) know that they got a potential steal in the 2nd Round, but they're not really obligated to play him over Luke at this point with us being 9-2.

Now that Ratliff is out, I expect Ebanks and Caracter to start playing more, at least until Bynum comes back.

Kobe even said that Ebanks was the most impressive player he saw in training camp, so I hope he's a Laker for a long, long time.

Ebanks real chance is next season I fully expect in the summer Brown (if he keeps playin this well) and Barnes are going to opt out. If that happens the Lakers will choose the younger Brown over Barnes to resign that wil open up playing time for Ebanks and we'll really see how good he is .

(But imagine about 6 million of those)

By that philosophy, then Sasha should be playing more than Brown.

Sasha is expiring - we don't need him to get better.

It's not an apples to apples comparison, because Luke at least cares, but I've gotten to the same point with him as I did Vlade Radmanovic. He is just worthless. The Great White Nope.

If things were that simple there wouldn't be scouts with 6 figure incomes in the league.

It wasn't the 5 preseason games I watched Ebanks, but the 7 years I've spent watching Luke that are enough for me.

Character and ebanks have no idea whats going on most of the time when their on the court and like j-far said we're in win-it-now mode. we dont have time to go though the aches and pains with these rookies

its hard to say by far when I see plays like the ones where he turns it over and FOULS at the same time to give the other team 2 quick points, or his brick fest from all over the court. I'm not going to sell Ebanks short, I did that with Ariza as I thought he was nothing more then a filler in a salary dump. Walton is done, there is nothing that guy brings to the team that ebanks can't do, minus some nifty passing here and there. If its garbage minutes, we need to give it ALL to Ebanks.

Walton > Ebanks

Ebanks is just basically a poor man's Shannon Brown. Shannon does everything better than that foo. Walton at least has a specialty, and he's probably our best playmaker that's not a silly guard.

Ebanks is just too raw right now. He may be an overall better player but ebanks does not know how to run the offense at all right now.

Ebanks just started playing in the system.
Of course he can't run the offense proerly right now, but getting him playing time will allow him getting it better.

I guess one of the questions is do we prefer to keep "relying" on an often injured Walton or try to develop a young promising player that probably has a higher ceiling.

Does it really matter? When games really matter we aren't going to see any of Luke or Ebanks. Phil will be running a 9 man rotation of:

Fisher/Blake
Bryant/Brown
Artest/Barnes
Gasol/Odom
Bynum/(Gasol)

The only other time we should be seeing Luke and/or Ebanks out on the court is when those 9 guys get the job done and its garbage time.

No, he's just a silly forward.
