The Lakers have assigned rookie Devin Ebanks to the D-League's Bakersfield Jam. He'll play in the Jam's game tomorrow.

glad that he's going to get some playing time. sucks that the d-fenders don't exist this season.

good stuff, glad to see him go to a place where he can actually get some play time and experience under his belt. Hopefully some confidence as well. They need to do this with Caracter too in my opinion.

I know you know Ron Ron can bang and
your being sarcastic because he hasn't had one this season thus far. LoL

We all want Ron Ron to get it going again.
Hopefully it will happen when we most need it.

Good move, he can't learn anything while he spends most of his time sitting next to Walton

It's stupid to have him sit on the bench and not get any experience. He needed to stay in college another year or two anyways.

Not surprised, actually it'll do him some good. In the long term we need Dev, we gotta stay as athletic as possible for the near future.

Yeah, but if he were in college, who would the team have nabbed this past draft?

Better to take away a promising young player from others and bring him in along yourself slowly. Not everyone is going get major minutes initially in there careers, especially on a championship roster.

Probably would have drafted some other kid that needed to stay in college a few more years.

The Lakers have no bench due to they have traded or sold 4 first round picks in 4 years. I know they do not want to spend the money on a young player over a few years. But they need to start to get younger and having no first round picks on the bench just means the Lakers are signing the old Joe Smith type of players.

Ebanks and Carater are nice additions. They might not be here next year if they just sit on the bench and Kobe is a year older.

Build a young bench and herp Kobe win rings.

Unless youre getting a top 5 pick, its not going to help or benefit the Lakers in their current state. Mitch seems to be content with Bynum and Pau holding down the fort till Kobe's retirement.

Devin's one of the few Lakers who plays with fire. Hope he dominates in Bakersfield and we get him back in LA where he belongs.

Both those clips are from last year. From a "number of dunks the Lakers get" prospective, compare Artest vs. Ariza. I can't remember the last time I've seen Ron Artest dunk the ball. I can, however, remember seeing Steve Blake throw half-court alley-oop passes to Devin Ebanks THIS season. I'm just speaking from a basketball / technical standpoint-- Artest lays the ball in, Ariza (and Ebanks / Barnes) style would dunk it. He should've been a 1st-round pick at least. People compare his game to Ariza and we can all see why-- a great defender!

Obviously I'm not saying I expect a rookie to save the day or anything, but all I'm saying is, knowing what we've seen from his on-court time, why would he be in the D-League? Especially if Luke Walton and Joe Smith and Derrick Caracter are never even playing!
