If we don't make a move say bye bye to the 3peat, I don't want Fisher to start anymore hell I don't want him to be on this team anymore, same with Artest that punk doesn't care about ball omg im making an album stfu and play ball he can't even play defense anymore, and Kobe wtf 8-24 usually superstars realize when they're having a bad game that they should stop shooting but Kobe is the total opposite smh he got a double double but he needs to stop shooting so much, we need another scorer to take the load off of Kobe

We are taking on the personality of the coach. Phil doesn't give a sh*t about the reg season and now neither do the players.

this game was just a simple case of "hard work beats talent." this is nothin new in the nba. there have been stunners in the past. i remember #1 seed dallas gettin knocked off in the first round by the #8 seed GS warriors. that was classic case of "hard work beats talent". i know it sucks to lose to this team after blowin them out 5 weeks ago but it is what it is.

No man its much more than that. Those Mavs were a 67 win team. When Golden State beat them that came out of nowhere. The Lakers season is different. It has been building up since before the start of the season. We had struggles in the preseason and most of us just brushed it off because Kobe was coming off of surgery while Bynum was recovering from surgery. Don't even compare the Warriors beating the Mavs to the Lakers situation. The Cavs aren't even a playoff team.

No I'm not saying its panic time but I'm just saying that the issues that were present early in the season are still there today. It seems like too many guys on this team are waiting for someone to step up and take it to another level but nobody is willing to be that man.

You just described D. Fisher. 8-)

But yeah, I'm not terribly surprised by the loss... Clev just got an enormous monkey off their back. Their energy was at an all-time high...
We were coming off our packed road trip and 2 let-down losses. We were heading into All-Stars with the event taking place on our home-court...
Our energy was down and we flat-underestimated them.

It's not an excuse... And I dearly hope these losses stung enough to light a fire of tenacity and mean-ness under this team...

And it also doesn't mean we don't need to make a couple moves... If we could upgrade our perimeter without cutting into our Bynum, Pau, Odom, Kobe core, I think we definitely need to do it.

But I think the Cavs are going to clip a few more surprising teams this season, so I really don't think it's as big a deal as people are making it out to be.

We're still contenders. And it looks like Boston's having they're annual health issues, Dallas will probably do what they tend to do and make a trade that messes up they're rhythm, and I truly believe San Antonio is going to flatten out after the break.
That said, if we faced any of those teams in a 7 game series right now, I think we'd be in trouble.

The phone-lines should be open, but for a piece or 2, not a roster revamp.

This, I completely agree with even if I don't think Ron is the problem. If we're looking to Ron Artest for a boost in our offense, we've got deeper issues.

I think it's dangerous to count too much on guys like Barnes and Ron for an offensive boost because they are both prone to erratic decision making and dumb plays.

They are both here to provide defense, and I think they're both doing OK at that, but Ron hasn't been as focused this year and his tweets and media-whoring seems to be part of the problem.

We don't want Ron to be a fan-favorite, or the good guy... We want him to be the guy no one want's to talk about. The intimidator who rides right on the verge of suspension.

I don't know why we are talking about trades. The Lakers problem isn't the lack of certain personnel, it's the lack of effort and the inability to win games by offense alone. At the beginning of the year I predicted that the Celtics will be at best a 3rd seed who wouldn't look like they can get past the second round while the Lakers will still be the favorite to get out of the West. Funny how it's the complete opposite even though the Celtics are much older and have more injury issues. It just goes to show how important defense is if you want to continue as a contender.

The Lakers are able to win the last two years with HCA and being the favorite on all the playoff series they have encountered. It would be interesting to see how they would react when they have to face a team as an underdog.

The lack of effort needs to start with Kobe. On the defensive end his effort is horrible. If leaders are supposed to set an example for the team than Kobe isn't setting a good enough example. Everyone else is in line so if your number 1 guy is playing with no effort don't expect 2 - 5 to have any more effort. I wish somebody had the balls to stand up to Kobe.

I agree but remember Kobe is 32 so I don't expect him to be a lockdown defender like he used to be but yes effort should at least be shown

I'm not losing hope. We just need to make a charge after the All Star break. The team that plays the best in April, May, & June is the team that brings home the hardware.

Now in saying that I'm not naive enough think we can just turn on "the switch". We have to come out with a sense of urgency after the break. Not going into which player is or isn't doing what because that is an absolute joke on this board.

Boston will be boston, we dont care about dallas, and Spurs will not slowdown after the break....they are locked for the #1 seed in the west
