Speed and jumping ablity does not win titles

Dallas proved that.

For all the talk of Miami, and OKC, those teams went out like every young team goes out every year.

Thats why i will still go to war with the Kobe's. and Fisher's, Gasol's, Odom's

Miami made the Lakers look bad because the Lakers did not get up for 1 big game outside of the at Boston game.

I will still take size over speed. We need some shooters for guards because Blake was a bust , however, i like the team.

I thought the 04 Pistons and years of Spurs wins proved that in addition to the last two Lakers titles....

You need guys that are willing to give their all on the defensive end. Our issue wasn't age, it was commitment to playing defense.

lol wut? Tell that to Barea, Marion and Chandler. All 3 depend on speed and athleticism.

Kidd and Dirk are just great players and shooters.

On the offensive end, we need more shooters, that's what we need. dallas proves that as well. they were loaded with good outside shooters.

I agree with the op but at the same time I felt the 2009 Championship Lakers did win because of their Speed and Athleticism along with Size of course.

Ya sure the cliche defense wins games but lets not let the live by the 3 die by the 3 slip this time. Their 3p shooting was great this whole playoffs but no one mentions it.

Well it helps. It is 2011, not 1980. So being able to dunk and jump 43 inch vert is more fun to watch. Dirk and Larr Bird just do not come along much any more.

No Doubt!

In the Lakers recent past back to back championship run , our bread and butter to winning was defense, rebounding , and points in the paint.
Every game they dominated on those facets, ended up in a "W".

We won that battle with Dallas almost every game this season and it didn't matter as they sunk in three balls with no conscience . This season was just meant to be for them.

No ill feelings from me they deserve it.
Now they will experience what the Lakers have been going through these past two seasons as being the Hunted. #2012

They don't really have to only use the three though. That was the difference, they don't just use penetration and kick-outs, they run other plays, they post-up Dirk.

One thing you'll notice though is that the floor is ALWAYS SPREAD. I'm going to repeat that one. Dallas always spread the floor whether it was with stretch 4s or just the fact that outside of Barea they had knockdown shooters.

I'd say Blake is arguably the Laker's best three point-shooter.

When you have:

- Barnes
- Artest

And a few mediocre guys your big men can't do a thing. Lakers absolutely need some shooters in this draft.
