Well for one the triangle is gone, and Kobe is turning 33 so we shouldn't be asking him to do everything at this stage of his career. Again I'm not saying Ellis sucks but he doesn't really help us.
Exactly, its not like Ellis doesn't know how to handle a basketball, hes a big time scorer, can pass, he would fit in perfectly.

Can't combine a TPE with players, you'd have to work that out as two separate trades.

m. jackson and west want defense and size, there ya go. lakers get more athletic.

But how do you really feel about a frontcourt of Lee/Gasol? Defensively, that is putrid.

exactly, we give up our defensive anchor for more scoring? We have plenty of offensive weapons, we want to get more consistent on the defensive end and I dont see how trading Bynum for Lee/Ellis helps us out there.. I wouldnt mind Ellis, he would give us one of the dynamic back courts in the league, but I'm not trading Bynum for him. We need to keep our size. Odom is our best trade piece, though I dont really see us trading him either unless we just get remarkable return for him. It doesnt make sense to do a Odom-Ellis swap because GS already has Lee at PF and we would have a glaring hole on the bench. Just doesnt make sense in my book.

Any penetrating guard would. Plus David Lee plays in the position in the low post about where Pau does and where Kobe will probably start playing more to save his legs.

Why not just start LO then? Lee takes LO's spot as 6th man.

The whole idea of starting Lee is to use his shooting ability. LO was decent last year but you can never depend on his mid range/perimeter game.

If we do make this trade, we HAVE to play a faster pace and knowing Brown and Messina's philosophies that's just not going to happen. Infact we could be one of the most boring teams to watch with the slow paced offense.

Warrior fan here: you'd be better off trading Gasol rather than Bynum (for defensive reasons).

Gasol/Brown or Artest for Ellis/Lee

A backcourt of Kobe/Ellis would be unstoppably. Kobe's leadership and intelligence would figure out the best way to work with Ellis. Kobe has played Point himself so you wind up with a backcourt of 2 combo guards (Curry + Ellis are both combos and the highest scoring backcourt in the league). Ellis pg skills actually improved considerably this season.

Lee basically takes over for Gasol but has a better perimeter game and with Bynum and Odom as his backup which you'd still have, you should still be covered well defensively. And BTW, Ellis improves your defense since now he will be guarding point guards (which he does pretty well) and will be able to handle the pgs that Fisher has so much trouble with due to his speed instead of SGs and SFs (yes, this season he had to guard Durant, Granger, Gay and Carmelo most of the season).

Ellis would have no problem playing 2nd fiddle next to Kobe and you'd have your heir apparent which he'd recognize. I'd really like to see him get in that spot because he's actually a really good guy and will do whatever it takes to win. It's risky, but it might be something for you to consider.

Ellis has never struck me as a player who would put his pride away to win, probably because he's never been on a team that's been good enough to do so. He, more than anyone, would have to learn how to control his urge to score so he is actually able to get those drive and kicks going.

20 PPg 53% shooting as the best player on a 48 win team.

Why you think the Warriors would do this?

Wow, some of you want to trade the entire team. I do not see this happening. We do not have the parts the warriors I think want. They do have 2 of the same type of player in GS. It is always interesting before the draft and come draft. Nothing happens.

Looks like the W's and L's have been talking about a Odom and Brown for Ellis trade

Laker related rumor.

http://sanfrancisco.ibtimes.com/article ... -ellis.htm

CBS Sports reports that the Warriors and the Lakers had a conversation surrounding the potential trade and that the Chicago Bulls may have also been included in the conversation.

The Bulls contribution to the three-way trade would be center Joakim Noah.

I'd think the Bulls would trade Boozer before Noah. Interesting to see what they get back in return.

I wouldn't mind a back-court of Ellis-Bryant to go along with a front-court of Gasol-Bynum. That gives us four legitimate scoring options on the flour. . .

I'd hate to see Odom go, but I think Ellis would be well worth it.

I'd rather have Iggy than Ellis ... I'd rather have Odom than both ... unless we can get a little extra or dump a lil wheats in the Iggy trade.
