If the lakers thought they had a shot at Howard, they would have traded Gasol for the #2 pick as was rumored. Then we could've moved the #2/TPE (from hypothetical Gasol trade) for Howard and then something like a Bynum for Arenas swap. IMO Dwight isnt moving this summer, if at all, and will probably just walk at the end of next year like lebron.

If Dwight did walk does anyone have a list of teams that could potentially sign him to the max. With the new CBA Dwight could end up getting stuck in Orlando for the remainder of his career. I dont think thats what he wants but he may have no choice.

Celtics
Nets

These are the only attractive teams that'll have enough cap space to sign him outright once he hits F.A.

Thanks Jetset. Assumming D.Will stays i New Jersey, he can either team up with D.will or Rondo. Thats a helluva choice.

My sources told me that this 3 team deal will go down at the trade deadline next year.

LA trade: Bynum,Pau,Artest
Orl trade: Dwight,Arenas,Jrich,1rd pick
GS trade: Ellis,Lee,Wright

LA gets: Dwight,Arenas,Wright
Orl gets: Bynum,Ellis,Lee
GS gets: Pau,Artest,Jrich,orl 1rd pick

pg:Arenas,Fisher,Blake
sg:Kobe,FA
sf:Wright,Barnes,Walton
pf:Odom,Kmart
c:Dwight,FA

Im being told that Kenyon Martin is a lock to sign with the Lakers after the lockout ends.

That is actually a fantastic three team trade, quite realistic and I can't see any of the three teams turning it down. I would love the deal for the Lakers as well.

As for K-Mart ... I do think we're #1 on his list and if Odom is dealt he'll be #1 on ours as well.

Expect this idea won't happen, and K-Mart sucks.

Not exactly. I seriously doubt Orlando was even looking at moving Dwight during the draft, they wouldn't give up their best player that easily. Whenever there is a free agency, Orlando is going to try their best to make moves, better the roster, and hope Dwight signs an extension. Then if they have an unspectacular season and record, they'll look to trade him. Trading him without trying do all you can to keep him is foolish. You have completely overlooked that Orlando's F.O. is hoping for a new CBA that restricts Dwight's options and may very well make it difficult for him to leave. Again trading him before all of these issues have been resolved is premature and is definitely management suicide especially if he got traded to the Lakers, while it turns out they still had a chance to keep him.

For the Lakers the move is risky. Like I said Orlando probably wasn't even looking to move Dwight at that time. Which would've left a gaping hole that neither Derrick Williams nor Lamar Odom can even adequately fill. You cannot replace what Gasol gives you. And if you trade Gasol to Min, that means you'd have to trade Bynum and our would-be starting PF in Odom to ORL for Howard/filler. Which would leave a roster of:

Arenas
Bryant
Peace
Bass???
Howard

It's not a given that ORL would be willing to trade Bass, he's a young player that they can build around. Plus that's not nearly as attractive as:

Arenas
Bryant
Peace
Gasol
Howard

Or even

Arenas
Bryant
Peace
Odom
Howard

Only one out of the three rosters is a capable of winning a title. And that's the roster with Pau Gasol playing PF. We're not winning a title even after an ORL trade, unless Gasol is still on the roster. So after seeing all this ask yourself, was a dynasty of Bryant/Gasol/Howard really worth giving up over a Derrick Williams?

The answer is No, in case you were wondering or still on the fence.

Well it doesn't change the fact that Orlando is going to rape us.
