my pipe dream for a rebuild is Bynum for Ed Davis + 2012 top 4 protected first.

^ What?????????? I'm sure the Raps would do that in a heartbeat, but then we'd get a redundant PF and mid-round draft pick ... why in the world would you want to do that deal???????

Loaded, just loaded ... I hope all those young pups come out and don't pull a Sullinger.

Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, James McAdoo,

Davis is intriguing and those next two should be title winners this year.

Myck Kabongo,

He absolutely has to be drafted by the Bobcats ... fans need to hear Kabongo to Biyombo at least five times a game!

Austin Rivers,

Would anyone be shocked to see the Celts trade Rondo to draft Doc's kid, the self-proclaimed "Sub-Zero"?

There's sure to be an heir apparent to Bryant in this draft, and well.....Bynum is going into the last yr of his contract.

Possibly but it's not likely if we're drafting at #25-30.

So the question is, if no D12 or CP3 deal happens would you trade Bynum for a lotto pick next year? Hypothetically let's say we don't win the title, because I'm sure the answers for some of you will be obvious if we won. I know you all are probably all worn out from the trade speculations from the last couple days but looking at next years draft, there's potential franchise talent to be had and Bynum could get us a high pick.

Yes ... I would have traded hm to the Wolves for Flynn, Beasley and the #2 this year! His knee issues freak me out to no end and I would always be looking to trade him if the offer is right.

If all of the top tier talent declare, the 2012 draft may be the deepest draft of all time.

How is it a mid first round pick? The raptors have picked in the lotto for like the past decade. That pick is very likely top 10 in what is projected as one of the best drafts. If Bynum doesnt play a full season next year, their is no way we could even get a package like that. His health brings his value way down relative to production. You have to realize that if any team wanted to gamble on him, their not going to want to give up that many assets. I think if the lakers wanted to blow it up, that would be one of the most attractive packages.

Getting a combo of Gilchrist/Davis or Rivers/Davis, or even (depending on protection) Barnes/Davis would be great return for Bynum imo. I'm sure if the lakers wanted more they could ask for Bayless or try to dump Walton to save cash, but it's a decent starting point.

Of course it's based under the assumption that the lakers "blow it up" or give up on Drew, which is incredibly unlikely. Just a thought.

Getting a top 10 pick in 2012 would immediately jump start whatever the lakers look like post-Kobe or even with old Kobe. I think if there somebody management really likes towards the top, there's a chance we move somebody like Bynum to get him.

Vlade for Kobe 2.0 :)

As an Australian I would love to see Ator Majok see some minutes somewhere down the line (I am sure that if he does Australia will very quickly adopt him). I will be honest though he is the definition of a project the guy is far from dominant in Australia's weak national comp.

Therefore I feel it is nothing more than a dream - I think his chances of seeing any NBA minutes are about as strong as the chances of Big Nathan Jawai getting another crack at the big leagues.

here's mine

Bynum/Walton to Det (need a legit C)
for
Knight/Monroe/Gordon/Maxiell
we get the future PG, the scoring punch off the bench ala Terry in Gordon and a trade of useless contracts between Maxiel/Walton and a replacment C....Detl probably giving to much though

If Bynum plays a full season on the Raps they would make the playoffs ... Calderon/DeRozan/JJ/Bargnani/Bynum is a playoff lineup.

If Bynum doesnt play a full season next year, their is no way we could even get a package like that.

I agree.

It's a great trade if we get a top 10 pick, I just think the Raps would make the playoffs with Bynum.

I'd do the above 3 trades in a heratbeat but there is no guarantee here .. what is the best we end up with is Sullinger/Davis (and in truth we could do much worse) ... I think I'd pass.

The best the Pistons might due is Knight/Monroe/Hamilton for Bynum/Ebanks/Caracter which I would do in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't. If Bynum leaves, who will protect that 6 feet? You saw his impact during that 17-1 post asb run. Our perimeter D was pretty awful and Pau was Pau, yet we still held opponents under 90 and below 42% shooting. Bynum was huge. I don't get what you guys see in Knight. He's a solid player but I would never give up Andrew.

I agree.. I don't think we are ready for that big of a youth movement just yet. I think we will say a older veteran team as long as Kobe is around. We should look for younger players but moving one of our main pieces for a rookie just doesn't make much sense right now, IMO, given we are still a championship caliber team. Even with our aging players.

I think a lot of people are under valuing Bynum's presence in the lane. I wouldn't trade him for anyone not named Dwight Howard. He is our anchor on defense.

What are you talking about? He has already represented Australia once.

There would be more hype about him apart from the fact that he has shown to be an idiot with a bad work ethic. Hopefully Lakers organisation can help straighten him about but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Do you think we're still able to win a title with the roster currently constructed? Because I don't. It might be a tad too early to trade Bynum, but there probably won't be as deep of a draft like the 2012 draft for quite some time. If we're able to trade Bynum for a high lotto pick in next year's draft, and a Howard/Paul trade doesn't happen, then I don't see how you not blow it up and trade him. Realistically, this is probably our last year of being able to contend without a major trade happening. It's better to cut our losses short and trade him for the future heir, than be stuck with an injury prone big who will only play 40 games, and have Kobe leave us with a very uncertain/bleek future.
