emotionally, the celtics.

in terms of actual degree of difficulty, i think the 02 kings were the most difficult opponent and it was more of a case where they lost it moreso than we won it tbh. in the boston series, players disappeared on the road...whereas in 02, the kings also had a 3-2 series lead and were very much in the driver's seat, especially considering the number of FTs we were gifted in game 6, and how they choked away FTs on their home court in game 7. the robert horry shot was a bit of a lucky bounce for us, and had that play never happened (fox committed a phantom foul that divac split 1 of 2 at the line when in reality he was going to make the wide open layup which didnt end up counting), wed be down 3-1 and likely eliminated. just calling a spade a spade. if i werent a realistic laker fan, the kings would be a team i followed simply because they played basketball the way it was supposed to be played with team work and cuts, while on defense they were underrated because of their past reputation of not being able to defend.

That Kings series was definitely nuts. I was in Vegas with my family at the time, and I pretty much ditched them to sneak into the ESPN sports bar to watch the 4th quarter of Game 4. There was dead silence as those last moments unfolded, and when Horry hit that shot EVERYONE went completely bonkers. I was jumping on people I didn't even know. It was a great, unforgettable moment.

1. Boston 2010 - History, finals game 7 and because we lost in 2008 against them.
2-4. Portland 2000 - Portland had a great team, great comback, we had not won a ring for 12 years. There was hate
2-4. Kings 2002 - Mutch hate and we won on the road in OT.
2-4. Piston 1988 - game 7 against the Bad boys in the finals. After going to game 7 against Dallas and Utah we had to finish it and we did. BACK TO BACK.

Probably sacrilege, but I might actually go with the Porland game.

All of them were sweet in their own way. But that game...I'm not sure if I can remember ever being that mad, and being more thrilled with a victory.

Twelve years removed from the last title, got our asses whipped in the previous three playoffs after signing Shaq, cruise through the whole year, go up 3-1 after dropping Game 2 at home, and to be on the verge of laying the egg of all eggs. I remember saying "MVP my ass" over and over as the lead built and nobody could do anything to stop it. Then to turn it around like that, and cap it off with that ridiculous alley-oop. That play is probably my single greatest sports fan moment. My best friend was over watching the game and we just started jumping around the living room screaming...awesome memory.

But it's probably like being Hugh Hefner and trying to pick your favorite lay. It's so hard to choose just one. The Lakers have been very, very blessed. All those great players, all those great games, all those championships.

My favorite detail of that Pistons game -- James Worthy played 1,069 games in the NBA, and that was his only career triple double. I could be wrong, but I want to say that was a career-high for rebounds, too. That's clutch.
