Contraction DRAFT: Min, Sac & Indy on Bridge of $$$ Collapse

Post#1 » by The_Trade_Seer » Wed Nov 9, 2011 3:01 pm

If the Wolves, Kings and Pacers really are "on the verge of financial collapse" as is being reported, why doesn't the NBA offer to buy out those teams and then contract the league?

Their would be more bri to go around if the league only had 27 instead of 30 teams which may make hard-line idiot owners like MJ soften their stance and ride with Stern's proposed deal as well.

Contraction would seem to be a win for the owners and players, a real no-brainer.

You'd have around 30-40 players or so in a contraction draft whereby the worst team from last season would have the first shot at (1) player off these 3 teams that is not a free agent, and so on.

If such were to happen, how would you see a contraction draft unfolding ... I see it as follows:

Cavs: Derrick Williams
Raptors: Demarcus Cousins
Wizards: Kevin Love
Nets: Danny Granger
Pistons: Tyreke Evans
Clippers: Ricky Rubio
Bobcats: Roy Hibbert
Bucks: Jimmer Ferdette
Warriors: Wesley Johnson
Jazz: Darren Collison
Suns: Paul George
76'ers: Nikola Pekovic
Knicks: Jason Thompson
Rockets: George Hill
Hawks: JJ Hickson
Grizzlies: Anthony Randolph
Hornets: Tyler Hansborough
Blazers: Brandon Rush
Nuggets: Michael Beasley
Magic: Wayne Ellington
Celtics: Dahntay Jones
Mavs: Martell Webster
Lakers: Hasaan Whiteside
Heat: Darko Milicic
Spurs: Lance Stephenson
Bulls: AJ Price

Are you nutts guy the NBA is trying to give CA another Franchise! Seattle, Mexico City, Louisville and Las Vegas are being discussed as future nba towns. They are trying to expand! Allegedly the league is loosing money... Yet you hear the NBA talking to these cities.

I think the idea is actually to MOVE the Queens to Vegas and MOVE the Wolves to Seattle and MOVE the Pacers to Louisville, not water down the talent of the league with three more teams.
