An even better option than landing D12 & Deron or CP3?
Dwight can EASILY force his way to the Lakers, easily. A trade of Bynum and (2) #1s would do it if Dwight forces it.
That said, Deron Williams could easily do the same. At present he is saying he isn't re-signing for financial reasons only but that he will definitely consider returning to the Nets next season ... which is like saying nothing and really sucks for the Nets. I personally see the Nets loading up this offseason with the likes of Nene and maybe Jamaal Crawford or even Wilson Chandler in hopes of getting D-Will to re-up with them next year, however while a Williams/Morrow/Chandler/Nene/Lopez lineup is certainly a playoff contender I do not think it's a legit championship contender unless Lopez improves dramatically. That said, if D-Will is a FA next year I think there is a 80%+ chance he goes and signs with the Clippers to play with Gordon, Jordan and most of Blake Griffin.
That said, if Deron would pull a Dwight and tell the Nets flat out, "I'm not going to re-sign with you next year", he could easily force his way to the Lakers as well and a trade of Pau/Morris/Goudelock/Ebanks and Caracter for Deron/Morrow and Petro would be a done deal.
We do have a realistic, albeit small shot at landing D12 and Deron Williams.
However, I think Deron is going to maintain the status quo and just become a free agent next season ... so ... with the news that the Magic may actually prefer Andrew Bogut over Andrew Bynum and the old news that Scott Skiles and Brandon Jennings all but hate each other, that the Bucks have FOUR Point guards under contract, that Jennings is hometown born and bred Lakers fan, that Jennings fave player is Kobe, etc ... why don't we make an immediate play to land D12 and Brandon Jennings right now in a simple 3 team trade?
LAKERS TRADE: Bynum, Odom, Artest, Morris, Ebanks, Caracter, Goudelock, cash and picks
LAKERS RECEIVE: D12, Brandon Jennings, Hedo and Gooden
WHY: The Lakers starting 5 of Jennings/Kobe/Hedo/Gasol/Howard would be the best in the league now and have two superstars for the next 10 years. If they can re-sign Shannon Brown and throw a mini-mle at a decent PF like Kenyon Martin or Chuck Hayes as well as a vet min contract at another big their bench would also be very strong. This is a multiple championship roster!
MAGIC TRADE: D12, Hedo and Richardson
MAGIC RECEIVE: Bogut, Ebanks, Caracter, Goudelock, Dooling and (2) #1 picks from Lakers
WHY: D12 is gone and landing the second best C in the East, a young all-star C who is a far superior passer to Dwight and even averaged more blocked shots per game is a solid score. Couple that with also being able to dump your second and fourt worst contracts in Hedo and Richardson and adding the expiring contract of Dooling and (5) young players and you have made yourself quite a trade Orlando!
BUCKS TRADE: Bogut, Jennings, Gooden and Dooling
BUCKS RECEIVE: Bynum, Odom, Artest, Darius Morris and $3mil cash
WHY: The Bucks have nothing going for them at present and a starting PG who is on the fast track to bolt beer town the second he becomes a free agent. Trading Bogut and Jennings along with the worthless Keyon Dooling and the horrible contract (by far your team's worst) of Drew Gooden to land the the incredibly young and 2nd best C in the league, an all-star level PF, a defensive ace and Stephen Jackson's buddy, the best passing PG in the 2011 draft and $3mil cash is a great trade. The Bynum/Odom/Artest frontcourt will be perhaps the best in the Eastern Conference and the starting lineup of Udrih/Jackson/Artest/Odom/Bynum should be one of the top 3 in the East. This team could make some real playoff noise!

that Bucks team will be bottom feeders, Bynum/Odom/Artest will play like **** to get out of there as quickly as possible, maybe Bynum actually tries so he can pad his stats and get a fat ext. But Odom/Artest will dog it for sure.

D.Will hates the Lakers more than any other team in the league. He grew up hating the Lakers and still hates the Lakers.
If Orlando is such a bad place to play in, wouldn't Bynum just demand to be traded next year this time? Bynum's contract is just one year longer than Dwights and if he is as good as Laker fans claim him to be, and Orlando is as unattractive as Laker fans claim it to be, what happens in Dec. 2012? Bynum demands to be traded to the Lakers? Bynum for Gasol?

^ To all replies above
1.) It is foolish to say the Bucks would be "bottom feeders" and that Odom and Artest would "dog it". Odom is a true a "professional" and "teammate" as they come and would relish the starting PF role and the 38mins a night that come with it. They guy has 2 rings but has never made an all-star team. I could see him having his best year ever, averaging 18/12/5 and leading them to the 2nd round f the playoffs easy. Artest had his best years in Sacto and Indy ... he would be just fine in Milwaukee playing alongside good buddies Jackson and Odom ... it actually might be the happiest he's been in the league when it's all said and done. Bynum would be a beast and relish being the #1 option. That Bucks team would be scary good and NO ONE would want to play them in the playoffs, guaranteed.
2.) Deron Williams loves Kobe and Kobe is a huge DWill fan ...
3.) As good as Bynum is, he is not the mega personality that D12 is and therefore Orlando would be a fine market for him. He would relish being the #1 option.

the League’s superstars weren’t immune to lapses in diplomacy … “I hate the Lakers.” That was Deron Williams, telling the Salt Lake Tribune precisely how he feels about the team that ended his championship chase three years in a row. “They’re so good,” D-Will added. “I hate them because they win all the time. They’re a tough team. We definitely talk about it. It’s not a secret. We hate the Lakers.” Hopefully the feeling is mutual. We’re not advocating on-court brawls or anything — although we could see Paul Millsap and Ron Artest swinging at each other while Sasha Vujacic does like Jeff Van Gundy and hangs on somebody’s leg — but the NBA could use a few blood rivalries these days

Nice first post...
And I'll retort... You're high if you think it's as simple as Orl deciding in a vacuum where to trade Dwight.

^ You really have to seel for Orlando fans ... I mean, you really do.
For the two greatest players in a team's history to never win a title on that team and then both go to the same second team to win multiple titles ... wow.

Lakers do not have the assets to land Dwight H. AB and LO would have to go for in a trade I would think. DW would take AB spot and Pau could slip to LO spot. But they will not do that. Throw in any other player and they will still be getting ripped off. Draft picks will be low and might as well be second rounders.
I can see trading Bynum, but what comes back will be good but not all star. Young pg and a PF would be good. Up grades are needed. Youth needs to be added.
