Dude is a piss poor excuse for an owner, meddling in other teams affairs instead of worrying on how to rebuild the Cavs. The man is so inept, he misfired in the draft and took already broken down Irving over Derrick Williams......straight up dumb. Now he's all in our mix....it wasn't your damn money man, let Dr.Buss spent his own loot.

Surprised he didn't type in all CAPS LOCK. LOL!

I sympathize for the smaller markets but crying and whinning like a bunch a pissy little school girls does not help their cause one bit.

Dan Gilbert is a damn fool. Does he not realize that he has put his franchise in a poor position? No FA will ever want to sign with the Cavs or be traded to them as long as he's the owner.

It was totally fair when Dan traded Ben Wallace and Pavlovic for Shaq. Or when he traded Z for Jamison and then re-signed him 30 days later.

Neither of those teams was owned by the NBA, so yes it was fair. Honestly, the biggest debacle in all of this is that the NBA still owns the Hornets. How big of an indictment of your league is it when you can't find an owner for a franchise?

They better wake up & smell Gilbert's farts. He can't run a team properly so he's trying to sabotage the owners that actually know how. Guys like him & Michael Jordan will make things get worse before they help them get better.

So his whole assessment is the fact that this trade would be ok had a small market team pulled this off? This guy has been sniffing glue for far too long.

So what does that amount to? Two million at most? We'll cut him a check. On top of that, we'll send him some pointers on how to win games and make money.

and he still receives a substantial pay off from luxury tax kickbacks by maintaining a team salary that's nowhere close to the cap limit and barely near the league mandated minimum and fielding a team that almost set a record for the highest margin for a loss last season.

The fact that he decided to rebel against the one owner who was willingly agreeing to split revenue to help smaller markets survive and it sums him up to be one giant ass.

his entire letter focused on how this deal affected the lakers when he has no business with how the lakers run their team. if he actually argued the hornets side of the trade, he wouldn't be looking so foolish.

I have no sympathy for the Cavaliers and that pathetic franchise. The owner is a douche bag like Donald Sterling. Except Sterling doesn't send inaccurate emails to the commissioner.

The dude doesn't even know whats the difference between luxury tax and revenue sharing. How in the hell did this guy become eligible to buy an NBA team? More importantly, how in the hell did this guy get rich being this dumb?

no it was not fair because it is a conflict of interest. Gilbert and Cuban are not the only ones that own the Hornets Buss owns the Hornets too.

they can't just decide that because it is inconvenient for them that a trade can't be made. if they are going to play that card then the Hornets wont be able to trade anyone because some owner somewhere will always complain.

the NBA is not supposed to meddle in the operations of the team that is why the gm had total authority. even Stern said this when the NBA acquired the Hornets.

Thats why I truly believe this trade will go through as proposed because if Stern gets caught with those statements that he said then he's going to have to unblock the trade and probably get fined.

Stern getting fined would be so epic.

Someone should write an open letter to Dan Gilbert (in comic sans, of course) guaranteeing that we'll still win a championship before Cleveland does. So he might as well get over it.

Dan is a piece of sh*t. I had learned through the grapevine there was a deal in place for D12.

I firmly believe Stern pulled this ONLY to appease these owners and will later pull back by saying, "This is was best option/deal we had in place." Though I do think the 3 teams will tweak the deal slightly.

Remember Stern (oops the NBA) benefit from having big market teams being super successful. The TV ratings go through the roof. What happens with small market teams make it to big dance? Barely anyone watches them. In addition to TV ratings, there are fewer $$$'s made on merchandise sales. Did we forget the Spurs/Cavs, Spurs/Det finals. They were a dud.

Hang in there fellas, one or another we will get CP3 or we will find a way to win big. I have complete faith in my Lakers.
