Dallas pick is protect thru 2017, so if they suck for years, Lakers will not get that pick for years if ever. So we really only have our pick.

I see some value in first round picks as they are young and every team needs to build a bench with some young players. It can also be used in a trade. But 20 plus picks do not bring much in return.

Lakers can use both of the picks around draft time and try to move up, even if the Mavs pick might be years off.

Lakers have not had a first round pick in 4 years. Trades with Pau cost the Lakers 2 first rounders and they sold another one to the Knicks. All the picks they got rid of would have not played in LA under Phil.

BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN ONE WILL TURN OUT TO BE THE NEXT LIN.

Lakers are old and the easy way to get yonger is to add some bench players who might help out. It is a gamble. But once in a while you draft a Fisher and he is a 5 time champ.

I say trade a pick to get Sessions. I want to see how much different this team can play with an actual player at the position. Will late first rounder be better than Sessions? I think not and if they do turn out better it won't be for another 2-3 years anyway.

I would die if we ended up with Rivers not only for the epic lolz but because I think he is going to better than people give him credit for when he hits the league.

I hope we keep both picks as we need some youth on squad w potential. We do not have now and because of sending all 1st rounders out in trades starting w 2007, is mostly responsible for our severe lack of depth at this time.

I'm excited to have an extra pick to trade. I want to use the pick + TPE to improve this team.

Given that they'll be late first rounders I'm not too excited. If you aren't drafting in the lottery then what you find in the late first round can often be had early in the second round, and teams are almost willing to sell picks if you want to move up a few spots once you're out of the lottery. We've actually done a decent job in the second round in recent years. Marc Gasol was a complete steal, Andrew Goudelock looks like a solid bench scorer and I still have hope for Ebanks who I feel is being completely wasted behind the useless trash that is MWP.
