We have his Bird rights. Calm down buddy.

IIRC he has a player option.

We still have his Bird rights even if he opts out.

He signed a 4 year, 16 million offer sheet with the Timberwolves in 2009, which means should he opt out of the final year he has still been on contract for 3 years giving us full Bird rights.

We can sign him to any deal we want without having to use any of our exceptions should he opt out.

sessions isnt going to opt out.

he wouldve at cleveland, being stuck behind irving for minutes and exposure, but here he's automatically the best PG on our team, he'll eventually get the PT and starting position

not to mention i dont think he'll get 4 mil starting salary from any other team next year

The Sessions trade was great though. Hated the Hill trade on so many levels. We shot ourselves in the foot there. We lost our leader. Fish would have been great in the correct role as clutch vet in the play-offs. Now we can't trade away 2013 pick to retool the team after the Lakers use Amnesty in the off-season.

Fisher was so awful, he did not deserve ANY PT. The guy is not an NBA player anymore! How the hell is Fisher gonna lead a team when he will NEVER play, and will probably be in a suit next year during most games? Do we even want that drama?

We can trade our 2013 pick as soon as Cleveland uses our 2012 pick. You can't trade consecutive future picks, but once the pick is made, we are free to trade our 2013 1st round pick.

Fisher was worthless. I love the guy as a person, and all he's done for us throughout the years, but I'm glad the Lakers don't have to babysit his contract anymore. We basically dropped all of our scrubs and got back 2 young players while decreasing payroll, allowing us to compete NOW.

Why would Sessions opt out? He seems ecstatic to be with the Lakers. Plus everyone knows he'll start soon.
