How is that relevant to any point I'm making? I call it like I see it.

My username comes from a hat Artest wore when he became a Laker.

I don't really care about your points, I'm just making an observation.

So your name comes from a hat Artest wore, your avatar is Artest, yet you don't like Artest?

I simply do not think Artest, at 32 is LAL's solution at SF.

i stick by my prediction last yr that caracter and ebanks wouldn't even be on nba roster's in a few yrs.

Which is sad because a guy like Ebanks could have been a rotation player if he stayed in college. Of course, I wouldn't want to stay at WVU either.

A lotta hate going on. I don't mind what his agent said, he's letting us know right now. It's not drama if people are up front. Mike Brown probably won't change his rotation so he's probably going to walk.

It's not easy to come off the bench. It can be a confidence sinkhole. And coaches like MB keep you on a shorter and shorter leash-- it's just not how you develop a player. If I were Devin's agent, I'd feel like my guy's career was botched too. He's only got 2 years to show his stuff, hasn't really been given a chance. That 4 game stretch probably did more harm than good.

If you can find a taker for MWP's crazy ass and the crazy ass $15m he's owed over the next two years you do that deal in a second and start developing Devin. Ebanks seems to have all of the tools, solid athlete, great length, decent handle, ability to create for himself, but there's simply no PT for him ATM. FWIW while I don't like the timing and how is agent said what he said, it's understandable. It doesn't make sense for Devin to rot at the end of the bench when he could be getting some worthy PT elsewhere.

Hopefully we can find a taker for MWP this summer (After Kupchak managed to rob Cleveland blind by swapping Luke, Kapono and a late 1st rounder for Sessions I've learned that anything is possible), re-up with Barnes for around $3m/2+1 TO and start developing a young talent in Devin.

Release his ass. Barnes is playing very well, and Metta is starting to come around.

The only agent that can complain about their clients playing time is Ramon's.

Agents should stfu when it comes to this stuff. Do your thing when it's time to talk money and contracts. Don't tell a coach what to do or who to play, that's our job

Let's keep it rea..Mike Brown sucks..we are only winning because of the talent we have. Not him. MWP has been sucking this whole season and if I was Ebanks I would be looking at him stupid also.

This isn't Mike Brown's fault. Ebanks has no sense of flow on offense or defense. His positioning was mediocre at best (he and Morris ran into more people on offense in the beginning of the season than I've seen on the Lakers total). He's a cutter that isn't that great at cutting. He's young and immature (I follow him on Twitter). I like the kid and think he still has a shot, but as I said before, he just really needed a few more years in college to grow up. Kid came out way too early.

I disagree with practically everyone here.

I see Barnes walking this summer for a deal in the 2.5 - 3.5 million dollar range (for a year or two).

I see the Lakers not amnestying W.Peace.

And I see the Lakers replacing Barnes' 2 million dollar deal with Ebanks' sub 1 million dollar deal.

Devin Ebanks will be the backup SF next year and Goudelock will get a big lump of those backup SF minutes as well (with Kobe sliding down to the three).

Even if Barnes does not want to leave, the Lakers will more than likely go with the cheaper, younger player in Ebanks.

I can't see it any other way, even with Barnes playing well of late.

It's really a catch 22 because if Barnes plays well, now and in the playoffs, he'll want more money (which the Lakers won't pay) and if Barnes plays bad they'll replace him with the cheaper Ebanks.

Barring the idea of Barnes resigning for the minimum ... my money is that he's ghost this offseason.

He meant Kobe playing a lot of SF, allowing Goudelock to get a ton of SG minutes. Either way it's all pretty scary

well can't blame him really. I'd be mad to if I saw someone play as bad as Metta while sitting on the pine.
