Dallas tried to kill L.A. with a zone but it doesn't work against teams that can pass into the post cut off the ball to make the zone adjust. Teams that drive-kick, sure that'll hurt them. Teams that can only post up yes, however against a team that moves off of the ball (the Lakers do), you can really hurt a zone.

Even MWP got into the high post off a quick cut and knew exactly what to do against the zone.
