Is there censorship on this board? Can u just lock threads?

Wrote a thoughtful honest question that was literally deleted instead of locked. Why not let other posters read what I wrote and just lock the post. I was not trolling and I asked an honest question who one laker fan provided a response to. The thread then just evaporated into thin air. Are we allowed free speech on this forum or only if it is in line with the mods personal views? I have posted many times in the Knicks forum with no problem whatsoever but here my post just disappears? Didn't lock it because other posters would have clearly observed I was not trolling.
