I'm even more curious about seeing what happens with the DA in Houston. What's he/she being investigated for? or should I say, what are the allegations?

Improper use of city resources to investigate political foes amongst other things. Thing is, she just won the office in a special election because her predecessor had to resign over some pretty shady stuff. She's being investigated by the Texas Rangers and the FBI and HPD had a symbolic vote of no-confidence in her...which kind of turned the spotlight on them and now a lot of the HPD brass is being investigated! Bottom line is that everyone here is being very, very, very careful about doing things by the book right now.

From everything else we're hearing today it is sounding like this woman filed an initial report to the police and Hill informed the Rockets about it who then did inform the Lakers of the incident. I doubt anyone thought that charges would be coming, but again - I can see that they took their time.

The worst thing that I can see happening for you guys is if the court grants him bail, but with the condition that he remain within the State. Not trying to scare you guys, but it's kind of a common thing in cases like this. I'm hoping that good, common sense prevails and they realize that a guy who will be on TV every night and is looking for a big, new NBA contract next year is not exactly a flight risk. ;)

Man that's insane, things are real bad in Houston PD. I'll have to keep my eye on that as it seems quite entertaining :D thanks for the info bro, real good stuff

Yes that is true miggs. At the same time though it still carries some penalty if convicted. Texas has some wicked laws, much different than California.

This may help clarify how they came to the charge in Houston, Texas....

Normally, simple assault that results in minor injury is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by not more than 1 year in a county jail and/or a fine of not more than $4,000. However, prosecutors can bump it up to a third-degree felony – 2 to 10 years in a Texas prison and/or a fine of not more than $10,000 – in some cases.

If you are charged with simple assault, it can become a third-degree felony if the state proves that you:

Committed the assault against a family member or someone with whom you are in a romantic relationship, and you have a previous domestic violence conviction.

Knew the person was a public servant or government contractor carrying out official duties, or you committed the assault on a public servant in retaliation for doing his job.

Knew the person was a security guard or emergency services worker, and you committed the assault while the person was doing his job.

Sounds like the timing of this, leads to wanting to settle for some cash out of court.

I read that Jordan has to be in court on Jun 8th (this is the delayed date). Not sure if this means he will be then expected to miss future games from that point on, but this is assuming we reach the WCF and the tail end of it.

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.
