Here we come again, a relatively disappointing season with some bursts and excitements. How would you grade all the Lakers player
Kobe - B+ For his age, I think he overachieved in certain degree, but you can't fight against natural, I think he overdone in some of the games, still a solid top 7 player in the league
Bynum B- had his moments in regular season and some playoffs game , just way to inconsistent and immature, good thing is that he is still young, those things are definitely solvable.
Gasol C+ He is better than what some people indicates to be, Bynum and him just can not exist together, that took away his precious post games. No show in some of the games in playoffs, but when the game is on the line, he brings more on the table than Bynum, pretty sure he will be traded this off season
Artest B- Start the season very slow, but caught on fire toward the end of the season, the only true competitor other than Kobe on this team, but he has know he isn't the Ron Artest 8 years ago, Durant burned him to hell in the series, IMO still a keeper next season just because his effort.
Sessions C Play really well after the trade, people were saying this dude going to be an all star in the future, but as we get into the playoffs, his game regressed to the ground, partially his fault, partially Mike Brown, but hey you have to listen to the coach right?
Steve Blake B Did what he s been doing in the league, solid backup minutes, even tho he was pretty awful for a long stretch of the time during regular season, still provided relatively consistent effort off the bench, slightly overpaid imo
Jordan Hill B+ Surprise of the year for the Lakers, provided much needed tough inside presence where Bynum and Gasol can't, still raw and inexperience, but I think he can be a solid contributor off the bench next season
Matt Barnes C still plays hard, still tough, but you just can tell he's a goner for mixed reasons
Murphy, McRoberts, Ebanks C Didn't see lots of playing time lately, but nothing too wrong about their playing time either, 2 minimum veteran and 1 rookie, you can't ask too much

Re: Annual Grade All Players Thread
I like Artest and want him back on the Lakers because of his effort, etc. but I don't see how you can give him a B based on this season alone...
He admittedly came in in terrible shape, sucked all season. . finally picked it up in the end but then got himself a 7 game suspension which tired us out in the first round because we had to go 7 games vs. Denver -- that may have cost us OKC series because they had so much time to rest and may have been the difference in those 2 close games
So, I give:
Kobe: A- For his age he was a stud, never have to doubt his heart and will to win
Pau: B- Could have been better
Bynum: C- Good regular season but acted/played like little whiny baby in playoffs where it counts
Artest: D -- D for dumb, coming in out of shape and getting 7 game suspension
Sessions: B. For joining team late and a lot of expectations, he did a good job
Steve Blake: B. Solid job
Jordan Hill: B+ - Good effort and positive surprise
Matt Barnes: B. Plays aggressive and hustles
Rest of bench: B - They did well with the little time they had
