If they were tired after a normal season, they are absolutely dragging ass after this shortened season... I think it's a miracle we haven't had more injuries.

so three straight years playing hard and deep into june

vs.

shortened season that started 3 months later than normal(more rest!)

is equal?

I just realized... Mike brown is the " Byron Allen " of nba coaches...

If you don't know who that is; my point exactly.

Dave Miller "absolutely" expects Mike Brown to remain head coach

I think Mike Brown needs to go and Pau Gasol, just get them out of here and hell maybe you really need to go hire Brian Shaw.

this made no sense, this is the lakers board not the clippers

I think Brown made a good job.. with the roster he had.. Gasol and Bynum don't mesh well.. I mean, Pau is really under used as a facilitator 4.. plus Sessions is not the perfect PG, not having outside threat.. This roster is not Nba caliber at all.. Brown made them play better than last year with an inferior roster(without Odom that was a key player).

You can revamp the Lakers team and they still won't be able to catch up to OKC. They are too fast and aggressive. The NBA is a guard driven league. Speed outdoes size. The Lakers need speed in order to beat OKC. Whatever changes they make in the offseason needs to be with OKC in mind. If they would've had Dwight Howard they would've experienced the same outcome.

thats wrong...they couldve been up 3-1 going into game 5...the problems start with coaching....

Mike Brown to blame

Post#108 » by gswhoop » Tue May 22, 2012 5:57 pm

Hi Lakers Fan... to acknowledge my loyalty, I am a warriors fan and I had my money on you on a 6-1 odds in winning it all.

I have been observing your team in the playoffs and realized that even with an elite/veteran team as yours, a good coach is still vital. Mike Brown will not be able to do that for your team. If Phil was still there I have no doubt that this team would have made it all the way.

My biggest disappointment was how Pau was used. The offense should have initiated through him atleast 50% off the time as guys like Collison were guarding him. Bynum had nothing going and were throwing up BS shots and hoping for a prayer it goes in. At least going through Gasol, you would have someone with an offensive repertoire and the ability to find an open man.

just some thoughts... take it or leave it.

thats where i am at too...many of these laker "fans" listen to the radio, and have been conditioned to believe that gasoft is a pussy, and is the reason for all of our ills, also that bynum is young, and a beast(at least every 5th game or so)...and thats where they are at...

a better coach wouldve prepared this team to be successful in the okc series, wouldnt have allowed the denver to go 7 games, and would after 5 months, 66 games have a clue about which subs/units to run and when...

Kevin Ding was really really bad on one radio show. He said Pau was the root of all the Lakers problems.

If i had the power to offer Lee & the W's 7th for Gasol, I would put that on the table.

i don't know about root of all the lakers problems, but at this moment i believe the #1 priority is to trade pau for an athletic pf that can defend the pick n roll and hit a mid range jumper, the further the range the better.

gasol simply isn't a true pf, he has the athleticism of a center, and it makes the lakers defense super slow. could work if he was moved to center and bynum brought in that pf i just mentioned. defensively i just don't think two slow footed centers like pau/drew work against all these super athletic teams.

Actually Hill could be that PF. Kobe and the coaching staff all commented on how surprised they were by his outside shot in practice, even though he didn't showcase it much in the games. Im sure if he was brought back to be a starter he would work even harder on his mid range game knowing the looks he'd get next to Bynum.

That way we could move Pau for some much needed depth and bench scoring. We need to turn him into multiple solid players in a trade, not another star player imo.

We haven't spoken at all about Igoudala. Perhaps the amnesty is still used on Ron and the Lakers then go with Gerald Green to fill the third wing spot. Igoudala's three ball has improved and it would be great to give Kobe his Pippen at long last.
