Mitch not going anywhere "best job in the NBA"

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Thu May 24, 2012 12:39 am

not sure if its being talked about in one of the many threads on here, but mitch was pretty clear on how he feels about being gm of the lakers, something that came into question by people saying he'd leave at the end of the yr:

http://blog.lakers.com/lakers/2012/05/2 ... interview/

Mitch Kupchak said he's staying with the Lakers, calling it "the best job."

Mitch Kupchak on his job: "It's the best job in the league." Says he plans on being here next season, does not want to leave.

Despite some unfounded Internet reports, Kupchak said he would come back to the Lakers next year because "It's the [NBA's] best job."

The man loves his job, simple as that. Just look at how radiant and enthusiastic he looks

And that's the happiest face in the organization.

Sweet, what a great year he had. Traded Lamar Odom for nothing in return, killing our bench, traded for a back up point guard to be our starting point guard, who turned out to be...a back up point guard.

He also traded Fisher who is leading the entire playoffs in 3-point percentage, not like that wasn't our biggest weakness in the playoffs, and lost a first round pick in the trade. But at least Mitch got Jordan Hill in return...who isn't guaranteed to come back to the Lakers for a variety of reasons.

We have no first round picks, we do have the last pick in the second round. Sweet.

Our team has few assets. Many team needs.

Not a banner year for Mitch.

He also traded for Chris Paul. The real person to blame is David Stern.

one of the best trades of the season? That killed our chances for a championship? Because you do know that we had one of the worst benches in the entire league. I mean, it wasn't like Lamar Odom was the SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR.

Lamar was the 6th man of the year last year. We had a healthy Bynum and Gasol. Sure Kobe was beat up but I'm not sure we do any better with Lamar on the team this year.

This is all too true.

Still disappointed about what he did when it fell through. We didn't have a true contending roster, and everybody knew this all season.

The Odom deal is most likely a move from Jim Buss. No GM, especially not a savvy one like Kupchak, would try to trade the 6MOY for cap relief unless he's going for a career suicide. I am glad he sounds committed to stay, because in this organization he is the least of our problems.

Alot of those moves that seemingly was motivated by saving the organization money was probably pushed for my ownership. Frankly why would a gm care about that (amount of luxury tax paid) unless they were told to care. i dont really blame Kup for those moves.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?
