By the numbers, KG was arguably once again the best defender in the NBA (how does Boston still have the number 1 defense without him), Boston gets killed when he isn't on the court, and he's somehow, who knows how, been rejuvenated in the 2nd half of the season and playing his best ball since 08 (he's been playing at his 08 level for this playoffs). The position change as well as Doc's lineup management has really helped him.

Lakers fans talking about signing KG for the minimum or MMLE - come on.

There is a.) A 95% likelihood he re-ups in Boston, b.) 0% chance he'd sign anywhere for the minimum or MMLE anywhere, c.) 0% chance he'd sign with the Lakers. Please do the math.

KG is as loyal as they come - there is not a chance that he's a Laker next season.

Lakers want to cut money, they do not want to add money.

Hopeful candidates who are interviewing for the Magic's open general manager position are pitching the idea that the team should go strong after Celtics center Kevin Garnett, according to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.

Reportedly, a couple candidates who're speaking with the team have said a two-year deal worth $20MM might be what's needed in order to grab hold of Garnett's attention. Garnett has been a revelation in these playoffs, and despite his relatively old age (36), he continues to perform as one of the league's best defenders, and a consistent offensive force.

The Magic are scheduled to be over the salary cap for next season, so in order for this to happen, some significant moves would have to be in the works.

While nothing is certain with the first ballot Hall of Famers future, Celtics coach Doc Rivers has said he believes Garnett will return to Boston and finish his career with the organization that helped him win the first title of his career. A two-year, $20MM deal would be about half of what Garnett made this year alone, but to see him sign something along those lines would not be shocking.

Smith also mentions the Lakers as a possible landing spot for Garnett's services should Pau Gasol be traded this offseason.

Spitballing ideas more than likely.

Why does anyone think KG will settle for just a partial MLE after this playoff run, and with the Lakers no less?

Call into Stephen A.'s radio show and ask him. You'd better not make us look bad like those other two idiots did. We'll ban you.

The first step to intelligence about the offseason is not to listen to Stephen A or Chris Broussard about trades and signings.
