I thought the Trailblazers were ok with keeping him, but he retired? :-?

It's amazing some of you are acting like it's impossible for Roy's knees to make any sort of improvement. Keep in mind Kobe was complaining about his knees being bone on bone as little as a year ago and look at the season he had. I'm not saying Roy is cured I'm saying give the guy a chance....

I dont think you realized how messed up Roy's knees are. Plus why sign him as a key piece when you have healthier just as capable guys hitting the market? Delonte West would be better for LA than Brandon Roy.

http://www.sportando.net/eng/usa/nba/39 ... n-roy.html

Will Brandon Roy make his NBA comeback as a Laker? While the question of Roy possibly teaming up with Kobe Bryant remains unanswered, Sportando reveals that during the last few days, Roy was indeed – L.A. bound.

Sources close to the player confirmed, "Brandon (Roy) landed in Los Angeles on Monday and is scheduled to leave on Friday."

During his stay in L.A. it is unknown whether or not Roy met with the Lakers' coaching or medical staff, however, he is currently undergoing a series of private medical procedures on his knees. "Tuesday was the first of a series of treatment Roy's going through. He's doing something similar to the treatment Kobe Bryant had on his right knee. It can only help," added the source.

Those who've recently seen and played Roy are convinced he's a much better player then he was in the past (which is kind of scary). Recent rumors circulating around the United States are indicating that the Lakers showed interest in the Former 2007 Rookie of the Year.

That said, "Roy is positively thinking about coming back next season. We like L.A. a lot. Growing up, the Lakers were Brandon's favorite team."

The Dallas Mavericks were also mentioned as a potential destination for Roy.

Honestly, I'd take him on the bench. You'd have to severely limit his minutes and probably rest him every other game for him to even have a chance at being active a full regular season. But I'd take him, it's not like we have a better scoring option sitting on the bench. Besides, it'd more than likely be a vet min signing.

I'd only play him to take the last shot with 0.8 secs remaining. +/- 0.8 it'll still be Kobe.

what a disgusting sig, destro. what bet did you lost? did you really on the crippled celtics? lol.

btw, huck the faters. DO IT, MITCH!

seriously, we cannot even "cripple" ourselves financially by signing him because we can't even pay him more than 3mi/year IIRC.

lol.

Yes, and my bet was looking pretty good for the first 36 minutes. Then the 4th quarter happened.

And it wouldn't even cost that, I honestly think Roy could be a vet min signing. Which is why I'm confused as to why everyone's quick to shoot the notion down, it's not like he'd drastically effect the payroll. If he can still play it's a win.

your bet was after the 6 game? on the celtics at miami? Damn! u crazy, son.

odds? his sig for a month vs him using your sig for 6 months? that would be fair. If not you're deffo crazy!

And I agree with your take on Roy. For what we CAN pay Roy or anyone else at this point, signing him wouldn't change anything for the worse, except jim would probably pay a bit more lux. taxes..

sign him for the vet. minimum and watch him become the new grant hill! (lol, j/k) but seriously, people wanted Arenas here after he proved he couldn't contribute anymore so why not Roy?

He still could have good quarters here and there, like when he raped the to-be-champs dallas mavs in the 4th quarter in the playoffs.,So what's the deal? If he comes here he knows he wont play much under bryant and he seems like a good locker-room presence,,,

I thought they'd be inspired or something from their fans or something. Boston has always had the perception of playing better when their back is against the wall. Guess not. And like I said, it was looking pretty good the first 36 minutes of play, then they were done.

Bet was loser has to wear a sig (either Boston or Heat) until the Finals is over. I think that's about a week and a half, so no biggie.

He's cheap and even with a busted knee, judging from how he was playing before he retired, he'd be an upgrade over the steve-blake and ramon sessions backcourt. I'd try him for the vet min but nothing more.

I think his knee can hold up if he's only playing 20 min a game off the bench.

That being said i only want to sign one old guy over the off season. If we get a different old guy I don't want roy. We need youth, but I think one old guy wont hurt us for a vet min.

If he signs for the vet minimum and can provide a few playoffs plays like a veteran can than fine, but I just don't see it happening. However, we did have Mitch Richmond here and J.R. Rider so anything is possible I guess, oh wait almost forgot Rodman
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust
