If Abe Polin was still alive, he would trade for Gasol in an instance.

Ted allowed Ernie to trade McGee's rights for Nene's contract when it wasn't clear Nene was free of injury concerns. His deal runs to 2015. I am pretty convinced the Wizards WILL trade Andray Blatche. Ted does not want to amnesty anyone. The thought of paying a guy not to play bothers him more than giving up young talent.

The Wizards made a win now trade when they dealt Rashard for two other big contracts, Okafor and Ariza. I think they really will consider and just might do something like Pau and future firsts for Okafor and the #3. Sounds like a Grunfeld move all the way. In the end he would say the Wizards traded "Blatche, Lewis, and the #3 for Pau, Ariza, and multiple future firsts."

Ted isn't going to trade for another veteran big. Ted hasn't let Ernie trade the last two lotto picks (Wall and Vesley's spots) the past two years ala 2009. I doubt we see that. The 3rd pick is the culimination of tanking and 'the plan' to have a young exciting nucleus.

Ted may have traded away JaVale but he isn't trading away a top 5 pick. Grunfeld might want to, but the owner has the final say and this is one thing I'm pretty confident about.
