This... I really believe good free agents will be signed elsewhere for more money than we can offer. I think it is a really good chance we stand pat and bring back the same team with a couple of cheap vets to fill out the roster. If we can't bring Sessions back, I really wouldn't mind bringing Farmar back. We are screwed with Kobe's contract and have nothing to trade.

Sorry for the grim outlook fellas

hahah. well, if by season start morris was our starting, it wouldnt be the end of the world. i feel morris biggest problem is he doesnt play within himself. he tries to do way too much when he has the ball in his hands. he'll OVERDRIBBLE til it drives his team crazy. once he realizes what he needs to bring to the team and pair that up with a consistent jump shot and great man D, then LA wont wince at the idea of him being our future pg. i mean the community seemed happy about the pick up last preseason, but only up til actually seeing him play

I actually still like the pick up and think more mins can certainly help the young guy. However he needs to be a back up

He played in 19 games last year as a rookie. He needs more playtime period. How do you expect to develop your rookies properly if they don't ever see the court? There's no substitute for that and there never has been.

It was projected by many that Morris would have been a late first-rounder this year (in an even deeper draft...) if he had stayed another year in college to hone his game more. There is no doubt he has the capability to do some great things, but whether or not he'll even be set up to do so is another question entirely. After all, this team wants to win now.

Dragic played like an All-Star last year, from the minute Kyle Lowry got injured. He is by far the best PG you can hope to get right now in free agency.

Deron Williams is not walking through that door

well, it really goes both ways. if you dont show anything that warrants playing time, then you wont be getting any. he had his time to shine when our pgs were dfish and blake, but he kept looking lost out there(which can be blamed for his lack of playing time. it really is a catch 22) goudelock outplayed him and got a majority of the rookie minutes.
morris played well in college. didnt he haave the most points and assist total or something like that? so ye, im sure he's gonna get a lot more playing time this season, but last season it was plenty understandable why he got such limited burn. but with a whole offsseason and training camp on the horizon, im sure LA expects to get a much improved player in darius

Just do not see how Lakers can afford him. 8-9 million. Not going to happen unless something real weird happens. No money = no players.

If the Lakers can get him, nice addition but I would be skeptical to on how Mike Brown would play him. Goran Dragic thrives in the fast break but seeing how Mike Brown played Sessions, I would assume he would use Goran the same way.

What would need to happen is Mike Brown needs to let Dragic run the offense as he sees fit, have Bryant coach the team, Mike can draw up defensive plays.

This. Personally there will be no fastbreak play unless LA has other athletes to go with that formula. Pretty much why they should have pulled the trigger on that J Smith deal but they got greedy and wanted Teague also. They were already doing us a favor giving us a young all star skilled guy for 6 million less.
